Transfer of Car Ownership

Hi,

I have purchased a car from my friend. The car is Maruti Swift (Petrol) and it 2007 model.

The car is on loan from ICICI Bank and I have taken the NOC from the Bank as well 20 days back.

The car is currently registered in Noida Number. I want to get it transferred to Ghaziabad Number.

Following are my queries?

1. Would I need to take the NOC from RTO for transfer?

2. Would I need to submit the Road Tax again?

3. Would the Registration number of car be changed?

4. What will be the total fee for all these activities?

5. As the RTO of Ghaziabad is different from Noida RTO, would I need to have any extra paper? What will be the procedure for transfer in this scenario?

Thanks,

Atin

Welcome to carwale Atin.

You can transfer the car to Gazhiabad RTO but the number will be the same as the state is same. Get the NOC from NOIDA RTO and submit it in Gazhiabad RTO along with the tranfer of ownership forsm signed by your friend and you along with the supporting documents like address proof, PUC, Insurance etc. You do not need to pay road tax as NOIDA and Gazhiabad are in UP itself (correct me if I am wrong). You registration number also will remain unchanged as it will already be a UP number.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. What documents I need to submit in Noida RTO for that? Do you know any agent who can help me for this activity?

Thanks,

Atin

There is a form to get the NOC. You need to submit that along with the supporting documents. I dont know about any agent in Noida but you can try using the local yellow pages or justdial.com. Also if you visit the noida rto office you should find many agents loitering around there.

Its form no 28 for the NOC. The documents required have been mentioned above..

"the supporting documents like address proof, PUC, Insurance etc"

For the NOC you may not require to give the address proof but apart from that you need to give the other documents. For more details its better you visit the RTO office or get hold of an agent.

Hi Sridhar,

I have a question, searched the forum but could not find the exact thread. Sorry I am asking similar question.

I am planning to buy a pre owned car from an individual. What would be total approx expenditure for all documentation and other required processes ? and how difficult is it to get everything done by myself? I am not able to find a good agent in my area .

I am not sure about the expenses Paul. Maybe you can check the RTO website or visit the RTO and check the same. How difficult - well it depends. Some people get it done in a jiffy while others need to have numerous trips for the same. Generally with all the documents in place and the forms filled correctly it should not take much time.

Normally Form 29 and 30 would required for transfer of ownership and registration in new owners name. If you want NOC then as Sridhar mentioned Form 28 would be needed.

Docs required are original RC, address proof, Id proof, PUC , Insurance.

In delhi brokers take around 3k to get it done within a week.
