looks like the HASS did more than just water wash. Good job. All the best I am planning to check with the HASS next week to confirm this FLHS noise again. I also have slight vibration on the steering and gear knob on idling. Need to confirm this also.

thanks for the info. Since my car is under warrenty, I will wait for the camp to be over so there wont be a crowd and then check the suspension.

I am getting mild vibrations on the gear knob and steering on idle and on rough roads, since day one. not yet irritating but need to check this too. Have crossed 3550 and by Gods grace all is fine.

FE am getting 18 km/L. Usually highway driving with mild traffic. No bumper to bumper traffic. But worst case I should get 14 IMO.

Thats great to hear 'all's fine' mine i have crossed 1600 Kms and its sheer pleasure to drive the car, great noise insulation its like a complete silence while driving, just the chrun of the diesel beast is what u can hear. I daily commute to office its worst hit traffic areas so bumper to bumper traffic with AC iam getting around 16 Kmpl. Planning for a 800 Kms highway drive to shimoga my native, let me see how car behaves. But as you said all's fine here too.

Take care

Any updates pls post

Checked the left front suspension noise again with the HASS last saturday. They did a thorough refititng, cleaning lubrication etc. Now the thunk noise when going down a speed breaker is almost negligible. Hope it lasts.

I also was not happy with the stiffness of the EPS. This has also improved now. Good feedback (no disconnected feel as expected) and quite smooth. The tech said the EPS gear box was changed (??). Under warranty so payed nothing.

Since I was waiting in the ASC for over three hours so that they complete this in my presence, I still overlooked the minor vibrations on the floor and steering knob. Was too tired. Hope this will sort out affter the oil change in 2nd service. Currently at 5100 kms and doing ok. Planning a hosur chennai trip this month end.

nigel, its still there. Everytime i go over a speed breaker fast, there is a loud thud noise from the LF suspension when going down only. Seems this happens when the suspension is released suddenly and not when compressed. I am used to it now but the passengers gasp everytime.  Hoping to get my 3rd service in HMP chennai maybe they will sort this out. But I am in hosur, so dont know if can manage this. lets see.

Hi guys, hope everyone having happy and safe driving,

So, famous i20 steering rattle is in my i20 - CRDi - Magna - Feb 2011 model.

Had to take to HMP chennai, met SE and had good long discussion about Steering rattle.

Solution available: The steering rattle would be addressed for free in warranty periods and they would strive to  prevent it from cropping again (He accepted it may crop)

AFTER Warranty is big question ?

Answer: It would be rectified atmost within warranty period. But after warranty it would be charged the prices are as follows,

1. Bush - Rs. 85 /-

2. Yoke Pad - Rs. 450 /-

3. Whole Steering Rack - Rs. 8000 /- {Includes 3 side suspension}

Update for new i20: The whole steering design/rack have been modified/rectified. It comes with new suspension and steering rack.

Thanks,

If you guys have any update please share.

right now its hard to say if their new modified steering is really good.Only time and user reviews will tell.

i have a doubt wheather the the 14" inch alloy is causing this issue, i 20 in other countries is launched with 15" inch & 16" inch alloy. I think may be this mismatch is causing the trouble. It might scound stupid, i am sorry.. i am not a mechanic. but for such a huge car like this 14" inch is too small. Have anyone tried this?

I too have front suspension problem.. done 24000kms... with the curse!!
