Hello,

I am new to this site and have very good feedback from my friends regarding this.

I have the follwoing query.

I have Accent GLX petrol car run over 70000 kms.  Recently on my long drive I faced a peculiar problem.

When I drive my car in gear , there is not problem. Once I change the gear to neutral due to road slope or during empty raod to stop after 500 mts or so, my car enginer switches off at speeds from ranging from 30 kms onwards.

Due to this my power brakes cannot be applied as required and it could have caused serious problems.

I had tough time driving back home. No mechanic could rectify the problem.

at low speeds @ 20km engine does not switch off.

Please let me know the exact problem for the smae and the solution for the same.

Welcome to carwale Rohith.

I assume the problem you are facing is when you are in neutral and my guess is that your idling might required to be tuned. At neutral the speed of the car is immaterial. Get the idling set once again and do post if you found any difference.

An accident is generally the result of a screw loose in the nut behind the steering wheel

First and foremost, do not practice the habit of coasting with your car in neutral. This will eat up the brake pads and also may overheat the brakes, leading to brake fade.

Coming to the problem, get the throttle body cleaned. If the Idle-Air Control Valve is faulty, the car will give such idling problems as the idling of the car cant be adjusted manually and can vary with respect to many factors such as  engine temperature, status of AC etc. So, check if the TB is clogged.
