Hi All,

I need some information on how to go about the following complex situation.

I have a car which currently is registered in the name of my company (it is a CLV) in Bangalore. I am relocating to Gurgaon and want to know the process I need to follow to get it re-registered in Gurgaon. As per my understanding:

  • I have to first change the ownership in my name in Bangalore (change of ownership)
  • Obtain an NOC from Bangalore RTO
  • Re-register the vehicle in Gurgaon RTO

Please let me know if this is correct or is there anything else I need to do.

Thanks,

Ashish

Hello Ashish, welcome to carwale. You are very much correct with your understanding. You need to go through these steps to get your car re-registered in Gurgaon.

You may want to search the forum, speacially "RTO Junction" section for more details on going through the process already highlighted by you.

best wishes.

Those who claim that they know everything do not know what they dont know.

SolitaireKing, thanks for responding. Due to lack of time I am unable to transfer the ownership of the vehicle in my name while I am in Bangalore. Is it possible to change the ownership in my name when I re-register the car in Gurgaon. I will have the NOCs from the company and the RTO?

Can Moderators/Senior Members start a new thread on the issue of "buying pre-owned vehicles - steps to follow" and put in a comprehensive list of all that needs to be done? This topic is very common and lot of threads are there in this forum. Such common issues should be kept under "common forum topics" so that people having queries do not have to waste time in searching threads. .. Prasun
