I live in Ghaziabad and have a Hyundai i20 Sportz 1.2 BS-IV. Initially it had the company fitted audio system but a few weeks ago i changed it and got a Pioneer P4390-DVD.
When it had the company fitted, the steering mounted audio controls worked, but when I changed the deck, they are not working now.
Can anybody suggest what to do?

The steering mounted controls are designed to work with the factory fitted system and will not work when the Head unit is changed. To make it work, you will have to source a adaptor so that you can retain the functionality of the steering mounted controls. I am not sure if there is one available for the i20 though as its audio system is fully integrated to the other functions.

Can you furnish me with the details about where would it be available in Delhi NCR, and what would it cost around?

As I have mentioned previously, I doubt if such an adapter is available for the i20 however, you can search the following links for it.

dear all,

I hope it is ok to put my query in this post.

I am thinking to fit a crash bar in the front for i20. Has anyone done this? How does it look?

If by crash bar you mean the one we see on safari's & other suv's, please dont do that. It wont do justice to this beautiful car. I've seen people putting them on alto, wagonR & even beat, no words to describe it.Yell

true, it will spoil the looks of the car. But there are some cases like in some innovas I hhave seen the crash bar design makes the car look good.

Problem for me is when i am in chennai traffic, the autos and 2 wheelers are uncontrollable.

So just checking. IMO, the i20 is best if left alone. I dont think any modifications other than alloys and paint can add to its elegance.

Technically, you must not add a crash guard to the car. That is because the purpose of crumple zones provided in the car will be rendered useless and airbags(if equipped) will not function in some cases. So please do not invest on a crash guard. Save the same money in case you need to get the bumper repainted
