Chennai to Hyderabad - Route Please ?

Hi,

I am planning to drive down from Chennai to Hyderabad. I have the following questions:

1. Which is the best route to take ? What would be the approximate distance ?

2. What is the road condition in the suggested route ?

3. How long would it take to reach Hyderabad with an average speed of 90-100 KMPH (though not sure if I can do this speed, i.e, depends on road condition and traffic) ?

Please don't go via Ongole, Chilakaluripeta, Nagarjuna Sagar to Hyderabad because there are many bad stretches between Chilakulripeta and Nagarjuna Sagar.  For details, see here.  I left Chennai by 6:05 pm and reached Hyderabad the next day at 6 am.

I drove down recently from Chennai to Hyderabad. I drove with my friend Manoj who gave a new route.

Chennai -> Redhills -> Sulurpet -> Nellore -> Kavali -> Ongole (Upto to Ongole it is NH, and roads are really good except for few bad patches before Sulurper due to some bridge construction work)-> Addangi -> Piduguralla -> Miriyalguda -> Nalagonda -> Hyderabad

From Addangi upto Hyderabad, the road laying work is going on - so we were able to drive at an average of 70-80 KMPH. I wouldn't say the roads were good but it is ok to drive with plenty of patch work on bad roads and suddenly we would be delighted to see 4 lane highway. Absolutely, no signboards on these roads. Unless you know the route or local language - please don't take this route.

It took 11 hours approx in total for us to drive from Chennai to Hyderabad excluding breaks.
