Hi,

I have recently bought a second hand Alto in Mumbai which is registered with teh Pune RTO under the first owners name. As per the deal, the owner was supposed to clear his loan with HDFC bank and provide us with the NOC from the bank. As per the process, the car can only be transferred to my name only after the bank provides the NOC and form 35. ( Please lemme kno if this is incorrect).

The problem is that the owner is currently in the US and will not return anytime soon. As a result, there is a delay in getting the NOC from the bank ( HDFC bank policies ). This delay also causes the delay in the RTO work of getting the NOC from Pune RTO and having it transfferd to my name in Mumbai.

Currently i have the following documents with me along with the car.

1) RC card having the name of the first owner and hypothication form HDFC bank

2) Original copy of the agreement with the first owner that the car has been bought by myself on so and so date at so and so cost.

3) Insurance papers of the car ( which has now expired )

Please let me know whetehr i would be facing any problems driving the car in Mumbai after getting teh insurance renewed in the first owners name by the time the entire procedure of Bank NOC and RTO work takes place.

@satyakam, welcome to carwale.

you can drive the car with current documents without any issues. Just get the insurance renewed and PUC available. And of course your driving license. Nothing happens. All the best. And congratulations for your car.
