Petra dindt do well....no wonder it was stopped.. Fiat cars r yet to prove thereself in India....thats what i feel....(Statistics say the same too). So i am wondering y r u thinkin abt the Logan vs Petra.... u can only get a used Petra now.also,Tata is now takin "care" of Fiat cars....which is certainly not the Best.... Logan,in my view is pretty ok...its base model is a little more than the Swift Vdi !... If u like the looks of the Logan.and dnt want2 go for a 2nd hand car.... i think u shud go 4 it....

Actually I like SX4 too... the base Vxi model... but its 7.5 Lac on road... pretty expensive...but i have read reviews and comparisons about SX4 and honda city..autocar and others vouch for Honda city ... they say Honda is better.. what do you comment on this... well since my budget was 5.5 lac.. i dont have much choices in this segment range ,,i guess only 2. Swift OR Logan.. i dont mind the looks of Logan but what do u advise between swift and logan.. i actually wanted a sedan , as i already have 2 hatchbacks..800, & indica. so am confused in this price range.. Also Heart says Honda OR SX4 but Mind says to be practical and go for logan.. well ultimately lets see how the finances are as i feel investing 8 lacs in a vehicle is not sensible whn u can get an alternative for 5.5 , so balance 2-3 lacs can be invested in other worthwhile assets.. what say... considering cars value always depreciate... so in all IS logan a good quality and refined product.. i am considering Logan 1.4 Gle model.as Gls is again 1 lac costlier... which makes u feel to go for SX4 thn or maybe something else in 6.5 lac range. like fiesta... hey thats getting confusing...so lets stick to What U Recommend ... Ok buddy.

thanx 4 sharing ur views Sumeet... well...honestly...i'd luv to ask u 1 thing..October 99...its July 07 now...so its a little less than 8 yrs.... n in 8 yrs u've only driven 62,400.... which means only 7,800 kms per yr... what i basically mean is at 21 kms per day, (which is what ur daily running is turning out to be) ANY petrol car wud have been good for u. ya i do agree with space though. and also i TOTALLY agree abt the Fan Belt problem...sum days back i was driving wid my frns,n we saw an Indica crossing us,with its shrill screeches.. n one of my frns joked, "Yeh Indica showroom se nikaltey huay bhi aisi awaaz karti hai ! "........ also abt thins lik "keyless-entry,power windows, electrical rear-view mirros... yeh dey only look good wen dey're new... one hates them once they get old,or get spoilt by the rain n other natural factors. rite guys ?..

Sumeet,

why don't you consider New Indigo Petrol / Diesel? I personally found more value for money in them as compared to Logan.

I went through a similiar buying cycle like yours. Incidentally I also came a long way from City to Logan. But chose New Indigo - diesel.

I have clocked more than 1200 miles in last 15 days and the problems of screeching noise is not there. Besides, Tatas have given a facelift with 21 different changes in the existing looks.

We are yet to get reviews of Logan on performance. However designwise its not the best design. Atbest we can say its left hand design with steering on right hand and other controls distributed over the cabin! Its also not friendly for spouse driving. Please check other aspects like quality of interiors, sound proofing etc. Logan fairs badly on it. Leaves you with a 'cheap' feel. Please take into consideration the service network and related issues.

[^^/quote^^] hi Sumeet...i think i sumhow missed ur previous post... well..in that case...the comparison wud be totally different..... u're goin for Diesel... how much wud be ur daily running ni this car ?...if its less than abt 1500 kms per month..then there's neway no point in goin 4 a Diesel.( i mean i hope its not goin to be under-used lik ur Indica)... well.. options are always unlimited if the bugdet increases a lil-bit,u increase it a little bit n u end up in another car.... so i think u shud jott dwn the points that u require MOST.... n according to these points according to ur preference we all can help u out...

well Shree has a point here....Indigo Diesel is also a car worth considering...but Not Indigo Petrol !!.... so think abt Indigo only if u've finalised dat ur car is going to hav a Diesel engine.n not Petrol..

Hey i have made up mind ... Only petrol Car will suit me as i dont drive so much ... so as karan put it 1500 monthly might be difficult ,, maybe 1000 so i am sticking to petrol....

also maybe i can put CNG / LPG kit to minimize fuel cost...

so since shree says logan is LOW in quality ... that leaves me with only 1 choice in 5.5 lac segment

1) used honda city  ... u think any other in petrol is worth it...

Sumeet...good u've made up ur mind abt Petrol.... trust me,@1000 kms per month,Petrol is wat u shud stick to. n ur Idea abt Honda City is simply the best.... well.. if its a used car...its got to be a HONDA City !!...trust me...its simply the best ...u can check out for urself in the second hand market itself.....and its not only reliable...its d most efficient in its category....... n ofcourse this car is a success wid LPG/CNG retrofitment. So the other options u hav wud be cars in this segment, which u can get at the same price as that particular honda City(s) but of a later date.... meaning u can always get a newer Accent than a Honda City at the same price.....
