NEW LOGAN or USED HONDA CITY

hey guys i have a budget of 5.5 lacs MAX .... so wanted to know what is advisable to buy in MUMBAI

New Logan petrol version [as i dont want diesel after my exp of indica., and also my running is less]

OR used NHC new honda city... i guess i will not get a ZX model but earlier model is also fine ... so what do u suggest advice....

NEW LOGAN PETROL or USED NHC ????

Logan is a good car but some how I dont like the look.

Is Logan underpowered also? I am not saying it is a bad Car or anything.

Buying used car is very tricky and also depends on your luck.

Used Honda Citys are available in large numbers and is one of the most reliable cars in used car market. Select the right one, may be you can higher some expert/mechanic to test the same for short listed Hondas before making any decision.

My person choice would be a Second Hand Honda City for its look and style!!

but i have recd mixed reviews for honda city on net...some say its the most refined car in petrol...

while others have given a negative feedback saying it is troublesome...

i was thinking abt petrol logan ... how much mileage it gives and i dont feel it looks so bad either in comparison to esteem and all.. or any other car in 5.5 lac bracket...

my heart says CITY but mind says Logan.... what to do???

Also is it wise to buy used innova ,,,, i drive mostly in city and say maybe around 10 kms a day... within bandra ..and maybe 2-3 times a month to kalyan... so is it advisable... what say guys... coz i find innova too big to drive and park...

I would suggest that you go in for the Logan. True that it does not look appealing enough, but will deliver decent performance and good mileage. Also, it has a solid feel to it and the interiors are built to stand the toughest of the tests. Suspension setup is well sorted out for Indian conditions and offers super ride quality (which I think is a must in Mumbai).  Do not think about going in for the Innova. It is a bit too big to manage in crowded places like Bandra. And considering that your driving will be limited to just 10km with an outstation trip once in a couple of weeks, it makes perfect sense to take something that will give you a better mileage and the Logan scores over the Jap on this parameter anyday.

well....i think NHC as a car is a BIG HIT...and HOnda CIty's rule the 2nd hand Car market too...... so if i was given the coice i wud go4 d CITY..

No Karan ... No decisions as of now... have kind of postponed the idea as will await Logans results until maybe december....

At home folks are not so comfortable with Used and 2nd hand cars... so probably we will go in for a New car only...

well what i understand is Logan is on the same lines as Fiat tried with its Petra.... tried selling cars with less price and more features... but after sales ruined Fiat... and petra has very bad resale value... wonder how is the performance... as Fuel efficiency is what is Important to us due to rising petrol cost.... Any comments on petra..... or may be how about Petra V/s Logan ..... Any comments..... do keep me posted... Thanx.

Hey guys ...as Karan wants me to share my exp with Indica.... here is my review...Its A Good car if u consider Space... as maruti's in that price are all cramped up vehicles..... except swift ...mine is a Oct 99 DLX top end diesel vehicle.. having clocked around 62400 kms... its in mint condition as it is mostly driven in bandra and once a month to kalyan....It has not given me any major expense ..except for suspension , battery , tyres , considering thses are common after 6 yrs of use...

further the only thing which i feel that the car is BAD is the constant noise of Fan belts.... TATA guys have till now not been able to rectify this mfg defect... u can hear the indicas screeching from long distance... though mine makes noise initially but subsides once the engine is Hot... but thn too the noise comes back whn the radiator fan starts rotating or whn AC is switched On initially... Due to this very reason i feel like selling my car...but since its diesel i get a good mileage of around 15 w/o AC and around 11 with AC in city driving....further the power windows and centrol locking are all gimmick,.. i feel we shud buy the manual ones as after some time these electrical things gonk off and you are left with expensive repairs of 2500 Rs for changing the motor etc... In manual u hardly spend 250 Rs for greasing..wht say karan
