So does the fan/blower use fuel or it's driven by battery?

So does the fan/blower use fuel or it's driven by battery?

Please refer to the previous pages of this thread. Whether we take power from battery or fuel, it all eventually comes from fuel only. Battery does not charge by itself, fuel is burnt while doing that. Fuel is the only source of energy (be it mechanical or electrical or chemical) in conventional cars, where we dont charge battery from external sources.

By the way, one thing I noticed but could not give a scientific explanation was, when I used only blower (without A/C), something went wrong with the battery. It got drained and the car would not start after the next stopping! And the problem happened to be with the charging circuit of the alternator. It could be pure coincidence, but it happened twice with my old car when I used blower alone.

When ever I use my Laptop my messages go blank and when i use my office PC or my cell phone its all ok why So , any reason can someone eluciadate it please !

Fuel is the key element here , Battery allows  electricals and electronics items to work and Battery gets charged through fuel , Battery is needed to start the engine .

Regards

Mathew

Its the browser, if you are using IE9 - another user Jay too had the same problem. Basically the new IE9 seems to not work with the wysiwyg editor. Using firefox solves the problem completely. I'd suggest that you report this in the problems section.

I forgot to mention, my battery got drained when I used the blower when the car was running (alternator working). If you dont start the engine and switch on the blower, definitely battery will get drained.

@tomy, battery should not get drained when the car is running. If it did then it indicates a problem with either the battery or the charging system - causes can vary from a bad battery to a loose alternator belt or to a bad alternator.

Yes, it could be a pure coincidence (though it happened twice). The problem was with the alternator.

Since it happened twice, I was just wondering if switching on the blower alone is bad for the alternator, though technically it does not make sense since the same blower is running when the a/c is also on.

When engine is running most of the electrical power is supplied by the alternator - so unless there is an extraordinarily power hungry device in the car, normally using any electrical item (including blower) should not negatively affect the alternaor. If it does then it indicates either an abnormal loading condition or a problem with alternator/wiring,
