The Toyota brand itself sells ! I havn't seen much of Etios or Liva's on the road , however slowly will catch up . The brand has a very good reputation around the globe , Gods are not supporting their country and wish they soon come back to normalcy !

I believe all good Auto companies in world have ability to make good efficient engines. But all over world, its performance that matters and more care taken to maximize BHP and performance.

Ford should bring that engine to India, but however, my inner feelings tell Ford will not bring it. But I would be more happy if I am proven wrong.

Considering Toyota is japanese, I am surprised they could only make 68 BHP out of 1.4 litre engine. Even tata can squeeze 70 BHP from 1.4 litre. Fiat makes 74 out of 1.3 litre and same engine again makes 58 BHP from mere 936 cc engine. I was expecting Toyota to give 80 BHP from 1.4 litre engine.

Even Honda is good at making engine, while its 1.2 litre makes 90 BHP. And thats expected. I dont expect tata to achieve that figure. 65 BHP is fine with tata.

I think no auto company is making serious attempt at giving good powerful and efficient to India that would work practically. But I agree there are many companies that have done their job well like Honda, Fiat.

This 1.4 lit engine is detuned to give better FE . And also they want to differentiate it from SAME engine doing duty in Altis which produces 90 bhp at 15 lacs !!!
