Dear All,

I have booked the i20 era diesel and expect by this month end or 1st wk sept.I am not much into ICE, just need a good system since i listen to mostly mild slow soft songs mainly spiritual. Howeve, I need a dvd to entertain my daughter during long rides. Nothing fancy, just should not have any mainntenance problems. Pls advise the best economical dvd player with basic screen for watching mainly cartoons and such.

Talking about DVD players for cars, firstly the cost depends upon the brand. If you prefer good brands like JVC, Pio, etc(good read as reputed), it will be 10k upwards for the headunit. However, cheap chinese replicas are available for less than 10k but it is not recommended as they are of inferior quality and are worse in reliability. Audio quality is not good either.

Next comes to the type of equipment. Either you can go for a double DIN in-dash DVD player, or else get a single DIN unit with a separately mounted LCD screen, either in the dash itself or a roof mounted screen. I would prefer the former, but however some are of the opinion that it is distractive to the driver. This choice is yours. I am of the opinon that your daughter will occupy the back seat, so you can opt for a screen placed in the centre of the roof, slightly towards the front.

there are lot of LCD models are available on the EBAY, u can order it online it will be shipped to u. You can visit any after market accessories car shop on JC ROAD BANGALORE, where u can use ur bargain skills lil bit to strike a deal. What i suggest u is rear view mirror with 7" LCD Screen with SD Card Slot and Flash Drive Support with Audio Out its like a PLUG and PLAY just take it out of the box and mount it on the Rear View Mirror with Gum Strip and screws thats it, and connect a AUX to i20's AUX port ur done u can watch the movie on the LCD, sound from the speakers of the car, when ever the LCD is turned OFF in day time say, it will act as Mirror. Two versions were there when i had seen even u can mount on the SUN VISOR that had DVD Flap as well, saw in the TATA MANZA in the shop.
