Installing power steering and AC alone would alone entail a lot of mechanical mods and would be very expensive(50K in an around)-would not advice to retrofit the power steering system.

AC and power windows can well be upgraded cost would be around 25K for both.

I too would recommend power windows, and AC. Power steering on Alto is useless. The car itself is so light and not much effort is required to work the steering - the main reason why there is a variant without PS at all. All bigger cars will at least have PS standard.

Not possible for normal people to get this abnormal FE. If your mother gets it, the dealership will print her posters.

The answer for heavy steering is not to steer when the car is stationary. let it get into motion, however slowly, and then the steering will get lighter, due to static friction getting converted into rolling friction. A small habit change can save you bucks.

@keerthi, the advertised 37 kmpl on A-star would be the winner of some hypermiling competition - or the driver would have adopted certain techniques that allowed him to get that mileage. In normal usage even the worse motorcycle will give better mileage (and better is a relative term here! even 30kmpl for a bike is shameful nowadays). All said, don't expect to get that sort of mileage from a car under day-to-day driving conditions, for, in order to get that mileage would require things that usually people will find difficult/uncomfortabe/impractical. And who, better than Krishna can tell you all about these things Smile?.
