Hi,

1) No, you can not do that. for 1st year you can keep your previous number of other state, that too with valid NOC. For 2nd year onwards. you need to get your vehicle registered in that state & pay the tax. However, you can claim the tax alreay paid in previous state & they will pay you back after deducting some charges.

2) Ideally, you need to get the NOC from the RTO where your vehicle is registered with. Agents may help you in getting the NOC in different state though charging a big amount for the same

Hi Guys

I need some info.  I recently moved to Pune from Hyd.  I need to bring my car to pune for two years.  I have an i10 purchased in 2008 April and I have completed my loan recently and got the registration done on my name.

As said, I want to use the car for two years in Pune and don't want to change my AP registration no.  I willing to pay any fees that would allow me to drive my car in Pune.  I have all the documents of the car and also taken the address proof for Pune.

1.  Please guide me through the documentation process.

2.  With the fees that need to be paid.

3.  Documents/forms that need to be filled

4.  Address where I need to approach the RTO office.

Thank you for the help.

Regards

KK SIRI

Hi,

I am shifted from Gurgaon to Pune & need to transfer my bike. I am having NOC from gurgaon RTO and want to stay in pune for next 2 yrs at least. My queries are:

1) It is compulsory to re-register bike or paying the road tax can work?

2) If need to re-register the bike, what is full the procedure.

What will be the approximate amount?

If possible, plz share/mail me some RTO agent contact details.

Plz reply!

thannks

Thanks everybody for so much info on the getting NOC and re-registration. I am going to start the process. I read in the RTO website that there is a process of refund of road tax for the remaining years from the exiting state .

have any one of you tried and tested it. Please share your experience.

@Yatin86 :- The life tax and tha road tax are the same here in Maharastra and Andhra pradesh. That is the One time tax what you pay when you purchase bike or car in the state.Although your bike is 30 months old, you still need the Road tax which will be calculated on the depreciated value of your bike. The road tax depends on the state.I assume it is 6% of depreciated value of your Bike.
