Dear Dr,

You have a problem with your car for sure. I had checked the engine oil level today morning once again, it is there where it was at the time of purchase i.e just a shade below the level 'F'. Do take up this issue when you take the car for second service. Have you checked for any leakage of oil from underneath the engine? Any oil seepage on the floor of your garage?

Where is Mr. Mathew?  Plz. share your findings. I am following team BHP. None had reported this problem so far.

Thanks

Dear Cr Pradhan,

good evening,

Thanks for the prompt reply.I must make it my prime issue when I go for service.

Have you seen that Fiat has just introduced ground clearance kits which are costing 10k.

These GC kits will raise your Punto’s ground clearance from 173 mm to 185 mm and the Linea’s from 161 mm to 185 mm to help you tackle the potholed roads, XL speed breakers and water logged streets with great ease. This GC package will be of more use to Linea owners as Punto’s 173 mm generally does not scrape its belly over an adulation.

Thinking to get one kit and experiment with verna if it can be done.Is it useful for our car?

Hope Mr.Mathew is busy and hope he will think about GC kits.

regards

Good Morning Dr,

Fiat's kits should be tailor made for thier cars & I think those will not fit into our Cars. Hyundai should learn from Fiat & should make a similar kit avilable. GC of our car is 163mm, which Hyundai is not making official. With load it is a problem for Indian roads, considering it's longer wheel base & softer suspension set up. Hardening the suspension alone will be of help to a great extent. Do share your views if you visit Fiat for the GC issue.

Lets wait & see.

Thanks

Hi

GC kits sounds good , however I would like to know if that would disorganise the stability of the vehicle , as height increases the stability of the vehicle decreases. If nay of the car owners have fixed it would like to know their feedback accordingly . However its a good thought process.

Regards

Mathew

Hello Mathew,

Good evening.Yes Our car gives better Mileage than the others in this segment like this engine.

But one thing should be kept in mind that full tank should be done to same level when ever we fill the tank.We get correct reading if we follow the auto stop filling of pump every time.

I'm eagerly waiting for your second service report.

Regarding car's  performance it is fine but I'm getting noise from my dash board mostly from behind the speedometer when ever I go on rough road. But the service people are not sensitive to correct the problem.

Regards,

Dr.Jagdeesh

jagdesh there is a bit of oil consumption in my verna to, after 1500 kms it dropped to the f marker, when i checked it at 3000 kms again it had moved down a bit and when i did my oil change at 5000km it was at half. the oil which came out was thick and black.

i asked my service guys how is it possible to have this consumption and he said its within factory limits of 1l/1500kms if you drive the car alot on highways at 100+ speeds oil evaporates and gets sucked by the pcv.

if it goes more then that then they will do a check.

and mathew my second service costed me rs 93

only oil filter.

i supplied my synthetic mobil1 0w40 oil

alignment and rest was done free of cost.

but since you have diesel i guess

the oil filter costs rs 120 something, diesel filter costs 1500+ air filter im not sure of its cost.

oil should be 280/l and you need 5.3l

hello Nigel,

Is your car Petrol one?

Which engine oil is good for Diesel verna .Synthetic or mineral and suggest one or two good brands.

Now I'm happy with my engine oil consumption as one more friend is having same  cosumption.
