Looks like my point aint coming through clearly.

Alrightt. Let me try it with an example. Suppose there is a house with 10 people in it and one of them decides to buy a car. He sees that 4 people are in favour of 1 particular car and 4 in favour of another (suppose) which uts the main car buyer in a dilema. Finally its that one vote that would make a difference, isnt it? Similarly like you said all cars have excellent, good, bad and worse reviews out there. So if in some forum there read that the moderators say that TATA is niggle free it would definitely influence their buying decision not matter how much you disagree. You can check this with anyone you want. I mean thats what people come here for - to help them make a decision in this already confusing market and one such comment could play a vital role. This has got nothing to do with judgemental skills. I am hoping I have been able to explain it clearly now atleast.

I would not be commenting/posting in continuation to this going forth and would discourage you also from doing this as it is taking the thread off track. Hope you understand and co-operate.

Subtlety is the art of saying what you think and getting out of the way before it's understood

I agree we need to move on !

Hyundai is not a big threat to maruti Suzuki. But definitely Hyundai's i10 and i20 giving tough compeition to Maruti's small premium cars. One big problem with Hyundai is they dont offer enough gadgets at price other companies offer at same price. Hyundai 120 engines are imported that keeps the cost of i20 very high into entry C level segment with Dzire, Manza, Verito etc.

Hyundai is now limited to i10 and i20, Accent still sells well but not suitable for competition after 2 - 3 years. While Verna Fluidic is beautiful car it needs time to create a niche. Santro is now outdated and most unfortunate thing was Hyundai Elantra was total flop. I see lot many BMWs, Fortuners, Skoda Laura than I see Sonata.

Offourse, Maruti's market is also limited to small to premium hatchback cars. Hyundai will not be able to give competition if they dont offer diesel options to all cars and offer better competitive price.

Are you sure of this? Then in that case even the i10 should have a higher price because it has the same engine as the i20. The only difference between the two is that for i10 the power is 80PS at 6000 rpm while for the i20 it is 80PS at 5200 rpm. Either post the source for this information or get the facts right before making a post.

The Kappa is locally produced, while the Sigma petrol engine is not much localised. That is one of the reason it has a higher price tag, along with the autobox. As per an old official release I can say that the Kappa is/was developed here and is manufatured here also.

Dr. Rajesh, I think you got confused, as the car is exported from here to many countries! No worry

If I am not wrong the sigma is also now completely manufactured locally. However I am not completely sure of this yet. The autobox, yes. That surely is a reason for a higher price

I havent mentioned about petrol or diesel. Thats my mistake. I wanted to say i 20 Diesel engine is imported from outside, its not locally manufactured.

Central govt have put more tax on impoted engine or engine parts. Diesel i20 prices are in range of entry C level segment. isnt it ?

And thats major advantage for Maruti. Their diesel Swift prices are lower than i20.
