Timing advancer is a device used on a car with CNG so as to modify timing to suit the slow burning characteristics of CHG. This will increase pickupp and performance to a noticieable extent. Lambda is a name given to the O2 sensor, which can give feedback to the CNG system so as to alter the Air-CNG mixture ratio according to the external conditions. This is also used to increase performance and mileage, as well as making the system closed-loop, where manual tuning or adjustment is not required. My car is giving  me average of 7km/ltr petrol in mumbai city . i hav heard abt sequential kits also n i dun mind spendidng 50k on sequential if its really beneficial.ive seen da reviews of ivtec dat da fuel meter readings decreases wid da running.I hav also heard from a honda service advisor that if i install CNG kit in my city ivtec my O2 sensor(oxygen sensor its approx cost is 18-20K) will fail aftr 2 -3 months n den my speedometer will show me da engine malfunctioning light (orange light).Which kit is advisible n reliable sequential or lamda close loop CNG kit??(its approx 37k in mumbai n its brand name is BUGATTI - its a argentina kit n not an italian kit) im getting sequential kit of this BUGATTI brand in 53k including da registration of RTO. I hav seen people using lovato but are not so satisfied so im planning to go for this BUGATTI brand kit.Im planning to install since 3months but im jus not getting a proper advice. my car has run 24000kms on petrol till now pls advise me as i want to install cng as soon as possible...

The O2 sensor will fail, if the engine runs an overly rich mixture of fuel, which leads to excessive emissions and hence the contamination of the sensor. However, if the CNG kit is tuned properly, you can save the sensor from damage. Moreover, if you plan to run the engine on a closed loop kit, it will have its own O2 sensor and will adjust the fuell mixture ased upon feedback in te exhaust.

O2 sensor failure is more prominent in open loop systems, where air-fuel mixture is adjusted manually and the correct mixture is never obtained easily. However, I feel this can be avoided with a closed loop or a sequential kit.

Coming to the difference between a Closed loop kit and a Sequential kit, its more like a carburetted car and a Fuel injected(MPFi) car. If you are not worried about performance loss, then a closed loop kit is sufficient enough. However, a sequential kit will be better both in terms of performance as well as economy. Only the initial cost and the skill required is higher in the case of a SGI kit.

thank a lot for ur advise but one more thing is dat will da same problem arise with da fuel guage meter da problem whcih all da new city's are facing???  how is BUGATTI brand ??? maruti suzuki has a tie up with a CNG dealer who installs only BUGATTI kits so is it reliable as my car is a honda ivtec...i hav seen da sequential kits also it has additional injectors...when we go to honda workshop for service they suggest us to go HDS check up which is known as car health check up and it also scans the various electric faults with the car so is it advisible to a HDS every 5000km as suggested by Honda?
