Hi,
I am an owner of Chevrolet Spark bought in Bangalore from Sundaram Motors in March’2008. Currently I am relocating to Kolkata and would therefore like move my car and do the registration in Kolkata RTO. Kolkata RTO has a strict mandate to allow new registration only for cars meeting the Euro III and Euro IV emission norms. However in none of the documents from GM, India or Sundarma Motors including sales invoice, manual etc etc have a mention of if the Car is Euro III or BS III compliant, which leaves me a very very difficult situation to do a registration in Kolkata. Since I bought the vehicle in 2008 March I expect it to be Euro III compliant byt doubt still remains....unfortunately the RTO need a written document to be produced on the Euro III/BS III complaint information of the car till they could take it up for registration. I have approached the Sundaram Motors dealers here after the advice of the GM customer care service center but they are not of any help and informed me that I need to get the letter written from local dealers in Kolkata who handle GM car sales/services. Kolkata dealers won’t give me a letter as it is bought in Bangalore and don’t see it as part of their responsibility. Now both says its responsibility of the GM, India (General Motors) the company to issue me such a letter and acknowledging and certifying the emission normal grade i.e. Euro III/BS III etc.
I would really appreciate if anyone have resolved such issue could share their experience or any advice for the members highly appreciated...
My appologies for reposting this as I have some issues with the previous threads.....
Regards,
Dibs
