Hi folks Kindly help with your valuable sugesstions .

I have purchased a Santro car in Vishakapatnam in Oct 2006 , I have moved to Hyderabad in 2008 and statying here from since then . I am planning to sell my car however the  buyer is insisting me to get the RC changed to hyderabad . ( Bear in mind Viskakapatnam and Hyderabad happens to be in the same state ) . Can anyone explain me how to go about it . Should I have to take the vehicle all the way to Vishakapatnam to change the RC from vishakapatnam to hyderabad , or are there any other options available , Kindly help

Get an NOC from Vizag RTO against the Hyd RTO based on your location in Hyd. Then go to Hyd RTO. There is form available with "May I help you" counter. Fill the form and attach the documents like original RC, Insurance copy, PUC Copy, NOC, Address Proof, ID Proof(if required) and a nominal fee(200-400 Rs). The car would be transferred to Hyd. It takes around 7 working day from the day you submit the document.

Your response was quick and helpful, Thanks you very much

Should I have to personally take the car to Vishakapatnam RTA office for NOC , Or can I obtain from Hyderabad RTA .

No need to take car to Vizag. Get the engine/chasis number pencil-marked on form 28 and go to Vizag RTO with the form and relevant documents and submit it there. It takes around 3-5 working days to get the NOC. Once you get the NOC, then visit Hyd RTO for further processing. You may visit your area RTO and ask people in RTO Office. I have found RTO people Hyd quite helpful.

Hope the experience is same for you.
