I had moved to Bangalore in 2005 with car, and paid Life TimeTax  in Sep 2005.  I continued to use the car with my Kerala registration without any hassles.  cops used to stop me, but seeing the tax receipt they let me go.

Now I want to sell my car in Bangalore.  I can get an NOC from kerala, but the question is, can the buyer register the vehicle in Karnataka without paying the tax again?  Is there a restriction that the number has to be changed within xx months?

Please advice.

If the LTT has been paid in Bangalore then I do not think the buyer will have to pay it again. Better confirm it from a local agent.
