Hi, I am Ajay from Delhi, I recently bought a 2001 Tata sierra and replaced the OEM 215/15/75 tyres with new rim and tyres of 235/16/70. Which didnt seem a big upgradation to me that time, but unfortunately its giving me problem scrapping with body here & then. If anyone can please suggest me the kind of suspension modification I should go for and please do also suggest mod./serv. to increase mileage/power and AC effect double ac or blower at back.

(Just an observation: I didnt know that Tata made the Sierra as recently as 2001).

It looks like you upsized the tyres including the tyre OD. You would see a difference in actual mileage and what's reported on your odo/trip meter. Your easiest option is to of course revert back to the stock size tyres. Else consult a competent suspension mechanic, preferably someone who has converted stock cars for rallies, and get spacers fitted at appropriate locations to raise your body.

With the upsize tyres, it must be feeling sluggish in the lower gears, when you start off. Not much you can do there. Try changing to K&N filters? Does it have an ECU? Look elsewhere on some forums for retuning your engine.

hi,
iam sarath from chennai,    i have an 1995 sierra standard version, regarding your querry which i have underlined and made bold . i have made such mods in my sierra , i will send you close up pics of them from my sierra, i have raised my suspension and fixed dual a/c for the rear seats, mind it i have not just fixed a blower but an separate a/c cooling coil complete with evaporators, man it is very very effective , the cabin cools down very quickly, and in this hot hot chennai it is excelent, also try to get a complete aluminium radiator and fit it, it really keeps the engine cool even in long journeys in our hot climate, try to fit tata safari's air filter .

Sarath, Thanks a lot buddy for writing, actually what i mistaked that instead of just changing tyres i changed the rim also which is the one coming fitted with the Safari Dicor nowadays as i got a good package deal and the wheels look good quite as alloy wheels. Thats why the tyres started gettin scrubbed with chasis from inside while turning to extreame on either side and with bumper & flaps while on jump. This I somehow managed to get rid by denting bumper a bit and shortening the turning ability. Regarding AC, topping gas has done quite a positive effect and the guy told me a cost of 10-11 K for fitting double AC at rear, which I am still makin up my mind. Please do send your sierra's pics and do keep in touch. Bye for now

Yours comments are true but it wasnt poosible for me to reverse the tyre alteration part, so rest all u can read from the reply to Sarath. I m not sure about the ECU but its from the last lot of the breed and is fitted with same turbo inter cooler engine as Safari has b4 the Dicor one. What good can i expect wiht K & N filter

Hi,
I purchased my all aluminium radiator in chennai. Actually i was lucky in getting that radiator,i was shopping for some spare parts for my friend's UNO diesel along with him in the used car market, There i saw a guy with a pile of radiators and other stuff like engine parts, gear boxes, turbo chargers, etc, There i found this all aluminium radiator and i picked it up immediately.
One thing i would say is that " All aluminium " radiators are very effective even in chennai hot climate the engine never gets heated up the needle barely moves up even with aircon on.
But i dont know wether that guy regularly deals with all aluminium radiators.i will enquire him and let u know.
