i own a swift zxi

replaced the head unit with an alpine 2 din w203e

installed jbl s265 c components in the frhont

jbl co axials in the rear

amplifier gt5 s644 jbl

sony 12 inch sub

still not satisfied with the results

clarity below par as compared to the stock units fitted in the honda city that are also alpine

i have connectd all the speakers to the head unit and not the amp which feeds the sub

Is it posible to conect the components to the amplifier and will this make any diference?

My dealer says that this would overload the components and that they would burn up

pls suggest something to brighten things up

First off, what is it that you do not like about the sound? Saying "I am unsatisfied with the sound" does little to clue us into what you're looking for. It is possible to get good sound even without an extra amp or sub, using just the HU and the 4 speakers (6x9 in rear and 5" rounds in front). Question is, would you like that? I cannot answer that for sure.

Coming to setup - rear speakers need to be 6x9 at a minimum and front to be the largest that will fit. The tiny 4" (10cm) ones will simply not work (neither stock nor with an amp). 5" would be a bare minimum. In all you would be getting more sound from the rears simply because bigger ones can be fitted in the rear. That said with an amp you need speakers matched in terms of power to it (front as well as rear depending on no. channels the amp has). Set fader towards the larger speakers which invariably means setting it towards rear. Adjust the bass/treble or equaliser as per your taste.

S = k.I^2, where S is the amount of stupidity a species possesses, I is the intelligence the species has and k is the universal constant of stupidity.

think the main reason for this is that you have connected the Amp only with the Sub giving it more power than it can handle. I would higly recommend you to connect front comps with the 2 chls of your amp and bridge the rest of the 2 chls of the amp and power the sub. Let the rears play with HU itself. By doing all this, clarity and most importantly, the sound stage will improve.
