Want to take serious photos/ landscapes to be used for enlarge printing purpose. Am a printing man. Planning to capture lot of worthy scenes, say snowy and more floral, ripe fruits scenes of Kashmir, Simla etc. (I do not expect flowers in Kargil-Leh-Ladak...)

Also Palaces, anything of ancient origin etc.

Hence I am waiting for my 5D Mk2. Or else might have gone with Raviji, in September.

I wont advise you to venture into Ladakh after september as you will run the risk of passes getting closed if there is an early snowfall which is not a rarity. Ladakh remains photogenic throuout the year for one reason or the other but best season again is between june-september. ripe fruits in kashmir/Simla can be seen in september. Why dont you accompany Ravi who I think is going alone and he has done a good researh too for the routes as well as the places to visit.

Just because of a worthy Camera ! As I said mine is a photo-tour. Unfortunately in India no 'Camera Rental' business to hire a high mp DSLR.

Thanks, Sarandilip.  After 3 day stay, I left Leh at 4:05 am and reached Hotel Mirage, Srinagar, at 10:15 pm today including visit to Drass War Memorial, some stoppages by BRO for road maintenance, many stops for clicking photographs and traffic jam at Zozilla Pass due to a truck getting stuck at a U bend.  I shall write a detailed travelogue after I return to my home.
