I have cleared ny car loan. Now I want to know the steps to remove hypothecation from my Smart Card. I will get the Form-35 stamped by SBI (my fibnancer) on monday. Can anybody give me stape by step procedure to be followed at Motor Vehicles , Kolkata? There are brokers outside the Beltala Motor vehicles & charge a big amount to do this. I do not want to go through them. If The motor vehicles department harrases me, where to lodge a complaint?I had to purchase the Form-35 by paying 40% more than the printed price as the same is not available with the Motor Vehicle office counter.

What is the fees for this removal?

Hello

You only need to submit the Form 35 in original, RC in original, Insurance and PUC in xerox to RTO along with nominal fees. Fee might be around 300-500. Thats all. When you submit these documents attach a envelop with stamp and your address so that RTO people send the new RC without hypothication to your given address.

Hope this helps.

Old wine,

I am facing the same problem. I have visited RTO in Bhwanipur more than 2 times, but they are very careless & money hungry greedy ppl sittng there. You might have to spend about 1700-1800 for removal of hypothecation.

In Kerala also the process is same that infromed by Anshu Jha.

You need to pin an self addressed envolope along with form 35, insurance, rc orginal, polltuion cerificate,  its a real easy process  they will send the new 1 with out hypotication to your address. Ofcoures there will be a nominal fee for that. Its a simple process and will not take much time.

Manishbajaj

I have asked somebody at the RTO about the fees for the removal and its about Rs. 140.00 only.

Have you deposited the required documents with the RTO?

I too will go to RTO on Thirsday. Just now found out the amount is Rs. 460.00 only and an agent is charging Rs. 2200.00 for it. I will deposit is myself. Do you know the procedure?  Since I will have to deposit original Form-35 & Smart Card, what if they hold it for long?

That is the point. After you submit the original RC, NOC of bank, Form 35 etc, they will get the same evrified with the bank H.O. After that you will have to submit the amount (Rs. 460.00) mentioned by you & then they will give you a date to follow up.

Be prepared to visit RTO 6-8 times atleast.

Before you sumbit document ensure you have the xerox of all the documents submited. I would advise to have a color xerox of RC. And once you submit the document with required fees you will get a receipt. So if any time cops asks for original you can show the receipt along with xerox.

And as said earlier, attach a self-addresssed and postal stamped envelop with application so that they send the RC to your home directly. This avoids visiting RTO repeatedly. It generally takes 10 working days, officialy, atleast in Hyd.
