Hello Friends,

I recently bought a new Tata Nano Lx. Its my first car and so far the experince is good (its just 4 days old). I am in New Delhi and I am not very well aware of the traffice rulles. Please let me know if I need to get it checked for pollution control or not. Also, if I need to get it checked, then what is the procidure for it? Where can I get it check for pollution?

Thank you!

Hi Abhinav,

Congrats on your Nano. I too own a Tata. You need not go for polution check now as your car is new. please read your owners guide which comes with the car. I did get polution check done after 1 year till then dealer said not needed. Please also check with your dealer.

The company/dealer has already given emission certificate in the form of a sticker on the windshield or any other area which is valid on 6 months/1year as printed on the sticker. After that, you have to get it done every 6/12 months depending upon the vehicle. Thought on emissions point of view, the car does pass it most of the times but from the point of the law, its required. If the cops in your city are quite strick, tehn you must have a valid certificate at all times. Hence, get it done as per the interval provided by manufacturer/at least once in a year
