@Krishna, I may not be able to discuss academically, as I do not have the technical know-how. I have given details of my observations, as experienced during my experiment with Nitrogen.
As already discussed/stated before, there’s no apparent difference in the ride-quality & handling or steering-feel of the car – except in some driving/road conditions (if observed minutely). Mileage too is the same in all driving conditions (city & highway) – there’s no change in the mileage derived by me (4 mths / 5K kms).
However, the tyre temperature on long drive increases at lesser degree – have measured/felt the same in crude way – as compared to air-filled tyres. Besides, there is a substantial difference in frequency of topping of PSI – have done only once (1 PSI each) after 3 months (last month).
Regarding the effect on longevity of tyre life, it is said that due to reduction in hot-cold cycle no vapor formation is there – leading to benefits like reductions in wheel corrosion & rubber deterioration. This, in any case, may be negligible and may not work out profitable (as also stated by you) - given the amount of money spent on refilling Nitrogen over a period of time, say 4-5 years / 45-55K kms of tyre life.
However, like I have suggested earlier (to Binoy), I feel it’s worth spending once to gather a first-hand experience – there’s no disadvantage whatsoever.
Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.
