engine flushing oil./carbon cleaning.

when repacing the engine oil is it advisable to add flushing oil before filling new engine oil.does it clean properly.secondly when it isadvisable to do carbon cleanig.how is carbon cleaning done without opening the engine.recently when the tappet cover was opened to do adjustment i noticed some thick sludge deposits.ican imagine what oher parts condition might be.but there is no problem in my santro.

In most of the cases, if you have been replacing the engine oil on time, you don't need to use any flushing oil. However, if you want to use it for your assurance, there is no harm in going for it. When you go for servicing, servicing guy does the required himself. If he doesn't, you can assist for the same. Maximum amount of carbon is found on cylinder-heads.
