It has been observed that, there are many thread which are opened to discuss very General & minor issues without any specific data as well as input.

Being member of this forum for a long time now I feel this certainly is not the standered of FORUM it use to be once or suppose to be. Most of the replies are SINGLE LINERS, with more of a further question rather then any specific answers. I certainly can not comment on individual but I just could not resist this flooding of useless discussions which keep beeping in my BB all the time. This has forced me to delete my instant mail notification for most of my participation & post my question here in the forum.

This is my personal view,

I completely agree with Satish and am glad he started this thread. Wanted to write more but again, must restrict myself as writing more would sound like pointing at specific members.

Carwale has been a wonderful forum but off late it seems to have lost its dignity. Especially the "General Discussions" section has been misused.

I further request the very esteemed and respected moderators to reset the status of some members who have inadvertantly got it just by flooding this forum with useless stuff.

Just to clarify, am talking about status like "New Arrival", "Legend", "Beloved", "Best-seller" etc.

+1000 to you Satish, guess you were thinking the same thing simultaneously as I was. Was fed up with threads turning into chat boxes and just one line replies being posted. In fact, I stopped following many threads as there was no use in them. I am not pinting towards any member but many of those posts were useless. I request mODS to please do the needful and bring out stricter rules for posting.

Also I agree with Jay also, that it doesnt matter whether how many posts you have in your name, but it matters to what they contain in them!

Completely Agree with Master. I wonder where are those good old days, where there used to lot more technical discussions on this forum. I certainly visit it these days, but find it more of a chatter box (example: http://www.carwale.com/forums/ViewThread-21965.html). I dont know what is discussed there.

The MODs should ensure that each new member reads / follows the forum guidelines. Following only the guidelines alone will keep the forum clean.

I think the Mumbai meet discussion on these posts has finally bursted out by Satish. Thanks Satish for doing this. It was really called for.

I think that such situation has arised due to less moderation of the forums unlike previously when we had moderators like Pankaj, Binor and Banwari who were strict as well as knowledgeable. And all of a sudden all are lost somewhere. Our poor Rohit is trying his best but after having discussion with him in Mumbai I guess he alone cannot do every thing. After all Mods too have things other than the forum.

I think its hightime that something is done in this regard. I would like to drag the attention of Banwari towards this thread and topic and take some strict action.

And by that time, I think we as members, new or old, take the responsibility to clean up our house and keep the reputation of our own family. I propose, rather, ask our fellow members to report all such useless posts to Moderators by using the ORANGE TRIANGLE on rt bottom side of all the posts or PM the link to MODS. Rohit is more active so probably we might be flooding him with such requests. And a strict action been taken by MODS.

Satish,

You have taken words from my mouth. I too felt that the forum has become more casual & irresponsible wherein petty topics are discussed in vain

MODS - pls come into action

Good Luck

Hi all, I too have noticed this for a long time and whenever I find posts which are not suitable I immediately post alerting the post owner about the problem in his post. I guess Rohit is the only MOD as of now with Krishna coming in on-and-off. The load is too much for a single person to handle and we surely can help them to certain extent. I have gone to the extent to making a post myself and then reporting my own post as spam so that the MODs are alerted and the previous post is cleaned up/deleted. I urge all you members to also follow similar processes.

MODS - I would like to add one thing here since this has already come up. In the 'Report this to the Administrators' there are only 5 options. I guess there should be one more option as 'others' with an open text box to enter details as to why we reported it. This would help a lot to report and also ease the load of Rohit.

Guys - I could get into a banning spree, but the only thing that's holding me back is carwale's image. I don't want people who have been banned (and feel unfairly treated) to badmouth carwale. Plus cleaning up has become like a "pop goes the weasel" game - you hit one, and another one pops up!!

2-3 months back when there was this issue of some guy posting obscene images in a lot of threads, I had spoken to Banwari about regulating and making stricter the registration process.

This morning I had PMed Banwari about getting aboard some more mods - still awaiting his reply.

Rohit, not sure if banning helps all the time but definitely warning does help. And regarding clean-up activity, as described above, we understand that its not so easy to do it on daily basis that you by only one person. One thing we could wish is that Krishna is back asap and Banwari may also somehow be active on forums. Am I asking too much? Sealed

But in meantime, as I suggested above and even Sridhar suggested the same, we all can come together and try to help Rohit and our carwale family to keep it clean.

And is anyone staying in Vashi? Shall someone personally go to carwale office and tell them about the forum and its condition if they are not responding via threads or PMs?
