Hi can any body tell me the diff betwen euro 1.euro 2 euro 3 cars..when were these came into effect.ioen a jan 2000 santro which is the version i want to know

Difference lies in their emission levels. Euro 1 or BS I emits more amount of toxic gases than Euro 2 or BS II. Same goes for BS II vs BS III. BS III is the latest emission norm in India (Europian and American countries are following Euro 4 now!).

Euro 1/BS I came in effect from 2000, Euro-2/BS II from 2001 and BS III from April 2005. Check-out RC-book of the car, you will be able to know which Euro version car is.

and any plans of EURO/BS 4 coming to India ???... when ??..

In India, now there is only one emission norms i.e. Bharat Stage (BS). They are quite equivalent to Europe's Euro norms. The only difference is the values of various parameters. Euro norms are harder than BS ones.

Euro norms are harder than BS ones ??...

Means Euro norms keep the emmission  level even lower ??

no the bs norms tested on lower speed while the euro norms tested on higher vehicle speed.emission level is same for both the norms.

How are these standards achieved?I heared that fuel is looped back into the engine, to achieve this standards for some vehicles.Is it true?

yes , engine pollution is quit reducing by the catalitic convertor the exost gas is now riduce in oxiggen only by the way engine is only mpfi there is not much change by the enginear,,,,,,,,,,

BS came from european country

in european they said euro

and india we said bharath stage

bs4 is not easy 2 coming in india bcoz of the indian road condition

when compare with abrod indian roads are not maintained well
