The future of Maruti Versa

Hi !

I have a large family and am planning to buy the Maruti Versa as it fits in with my requirements (space, easy to park and price). Other options such as Toyota Innova are quite expensive (relative to the Versa). However I've some concerns about the Versa:-

1. Very few Versa's on the road - Is this a failed model?

2. Availability of spares - Will the Versa continue to have support 4-5 years from today

3. Will Maruti discontinue this model? (Due to lackluster sales)

4. Re-sale value. Will I have a "resonable" re-sale value for this 4-5 years doan the line?

Versa is not a failed model, but is kind of unwanted. People in India look for "cars", hatchbacks and sedans to be more precise. Versa falls in a category which is quite unfamiliar for Indian people. No one wants to pay 4+ lakhs for a van.

There is no sure answer to either of your question, you can't predict the future. But considering the fact that it's a Maruti, most of the answers start with a NO. Resale of Versa is fine, not very good.

Talking about Versa....  i have seen ALOT of Versa's on road... which stop at LPG/CNG stations......  in the sense that they're using LPG/CNG...and there and their views for the car is good !!...

afterall...it has got a little more SPACE than other cars at 4 lakhs...
