When is the new tata safari getting launched

Do you have any idea when the new version will be launched?

As I am planning to buy a new one and if the new launch is not too far away I can wait for that as well.

Also found that the Merlin is going to have better interior.

It seems that the merlin is going to have all disk brakes.

Can you please let us know what is the expected launch date of Merlin? I would like to go for the Merlin.

I saw a new camouflaged SUV being tested on the University road in pune today. For a second I thought it was a sibling of the endeavour when I saw it from the rear. The rear tail lights resembled the ones from the old Scorpio. The rear bumper had brake lights installed. It looked much broader and slightly longer than the existing safari (this is the reason I am still confused if this is indeed the new safari). I was behind the SUV all this while. Was finding it difficult to overtake it as it was very fast. The pickup was excellent as the moment I caught up it it would speed up and be miles away (I was on my bike by the way and I so I could not take pictures). Everytime the driver saw I had cauught up he would immediately speed up again leaving me behind, probably he had smelt that I was spying. I however managed to overtake it. I wanted to see if it was the new Safari and tried looking at the wheelcaps but as expected the manufacturer logos were missing. Could not look at the steering as I was on the left side and the windows were tainted. When I did overtake I took a look at the front grill in my rear view mirrior and the oval shape in the from of the grill looked exactly like the new age TATA vehicles have. The headlights looked like a smaller version of the new age Prado with the indicator on the inside of the light unlike in the existing safari. If this is indded the safari then it would definitely sell well if priced correctly but looking at the car I felt it would be an easy 10 lacs+ but cant be sure. From the way it was driving I think it is equiped with a 3.0 diesel engine like the fortuner. Since we were at a good speed (around 80-100) and in traffic I was not able to see the details properly but have to put in some of the details. I just hope this is the new safari. If not then which even manufacturer it is we have an excellent SUV coming up.

The concern is that if the new safari is going to be launched this year itself why there is no announcement from Tata till date? If it is this year it should be before Puja.

Guy the new safari will be called safari storm and will be launched at auto expo.

The Gen-X Tata Safari that was expected to be called as ‘Tata Safari Merlin’ by Indian Conglomerate Tata Motors till yesterday, has now been rumored to be renamed as ‘Tata Safari Storm’ or ‘Tata Storm’. With this report, it has just increased the intensity of hype created by the company before it’s unveiling at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo.

It's better that Tata launches Merlin / Storm soon, what ever they want to call it.

It's been too long a wait for this car.

Is there any idea when they are going to start booking of this car?
