How Maruti saves on their Input Cost ? And what can be done.

One of my friend bought Alto LXi last week. When he went for the PDI, he complained two major ab-normality. 

1. Metallic emblem of Maruti Suzuki & Alto LXi - are replaced by stickers.

2. Roof carpet is missing between the rear windows and the boot. Here is the picture I've taken (with my mobile) to explain. 

By looking at the theft of emblems in Mumbai, I think the stickers in place of metallic emblem may be blessing in disguise.  However the missing roof carpet is a big turn-off. 

My question is  - if there is any possibility to get the portion covered with similar material?

Well, my santro too does not have a roof carpet, as perhaps many other cars too. It is not abnormal or anything just the way the car is made. You can cover the area with the same carpet as the floor but the carpet would have to be stuck to the roof, making it hard to remove the roof later on (for example to install new cabin lights or any sirt of wiring, etc.).

The older Alto's did have that portion covered and that is the reason I thought its ab-normal.

Anyways, Can you tell me where it can be done. A couple of shops in Mulund we checked today told us that they can't do this work.

Well, even I don't know...maybe you can check at opera house - it is a big (wholesale) market for car parts and there are many car accessory and fitting shops there.
