I don't think we need to pay Octroi/Entry Tax twice within the same state.

Octroi is applicable within Mumbai city limits

I have two queries

1. What is RTO charges in Anand, Gujarat. I am planning to buy Beat 1.2 LS with exshowroom price 379,644. The dealer is asking for RTO 21,808 and handling and Log 3500.

I am just wondering are these figure correct or inflated?I would appreciate a quick response as I am planning to but this month end or early next month.

2. What are the standard accessories available with the Beat LS 1.2? I guess Antenna (FM) and footmat should be free. dealer is asking us to buy 18,000 accessory pack and these two are included in the list.

does dealer have margin in RTO dealing as well.

I have two queries

I want to tranport a brand new Car purched in Mumbai to some other state.

1) For taking out of Mumbai whether I have to pay Octroi in Mumbai?

2) For entering some other state where I want to use it , I have to pay Octroi as per the state rule?

If you have purchased the car in Mumbai (MH01/2/3) then you have already paid octroi

so...

1. NA as its already paid and you wont get a refund as well

2. Octroi concept is only applicable for Mumbai

In mumbai to register the other state vehicle one needs to have..

1. Octroi tax paid receipt/NOC currently 4.5% on insurance value.  IF not paid earlier you can pay it at the RTO itself there is BMC booth for the very same purpose.

2. Entry tax of vehicle 12.5%.  subject to relaxation upto CST paid in the original state.

Example. CST paid in karnataka while purchasing bike is 12.5% and the entry tax in maharashtra is 12.5% so the net entry tax paid is zero.  Just you need to take NOC from Sales tax office at BKC Bandra.  Its near to Family court.  While taking NOC just bring the Invoice, Insurance, PUC, RC, Form 28 (issued from original RTO) and filled Form 20 dowloaded from RTO website.  Take both original and xerox.  Just submit only xerox of all the documents and the form 28 and form 20.

3. NOC (Form 28 in duplicate) issued from the original registering authority.

4. Invoice of the bike.

5. Valid insurance.

6. Valid PUC

7. From 27, Form 20, Form FT, Form 33.  All can be downloaded from RTO website

8. Current Address proof.

9. RC book

10. Once you submit all the forms at RTO the Road tax will be taken by the RTO at mumbai. 7% of current insurance value.

11. It is advisable to deposit the octroi and to take Entry tax NOC while entering the vehicle initially only.  it will only save your time and energy.

12. Wait for 45 days and the bike/car will be registered and assigned a new number.

Once the vehicle is registered in mumbai you can claim the refund of the road tax paid from the original registering authority.  so the net amount you paid is only octroi.  so its not a bad deal to bring your vehicle in mumbai.
