electric ORVM's in wagon r duo possible ??

Dear Mr. Sharma,

 

I want you and you to answer this question.

 

I have bought a wagon r duo LXI. and want to get electric ORVM's like that of the petrol VXI fitted...many guys in maruti r denying the fitment and provision.Is it possible to get it done anywhere ( but i am looking for original MGP only) and if yes then how much do i have to shell out ??

I think this can be done. You might get genuine Maruti parts for this too but there is one problem in this modification. In order to fit electric OSRVM, mechanic might have to make modification in car's wiring and playing with wiring means warranty voided. Since your Maruti dealer has denied this fitment, the best you can do is to ask the same with some other Maruti dealer in your city. If he says the same, it won't be a good idea to go against warranty constraints.

Secondly although i requested only you to answer as i was being confused by non pro people and was looking for a clear answer,but still i apologise to the forum for using such statement and completey agree with your view point that it limits prospective good replies.Shall surely take care next time...thanks again.

You can try some dealers nearby your place or of some other city if you land there with the car.

But get it done from an authorised dealer so that warranty is not void.

hi Mr Chandrakar, hows ur Wagon R Duo goin on ??... and any luck about the electronic rear view mirrors ??... even i have a WagonR Duo Lxi,and wud love to get electronic mirrors,so i'll ask my dealer in New Delhi...i hope they say its possible.... which City r u from by d way ?.. cheers..

I am in mumbai.

Car is doing well exccept minor hiccups with the pic up on gas.

I had to change igniter coils and get the gas filter cleaned as well even before 7000 kms.I was very annoyed by that.

did u face any problems with the gas filter getting choked ??

But when everything is fine the car runs so flawless,its not funny.

I tried various authorised dealers for the ORVM's.

I was surprised that they are quoting me somewhere around 7k for the same which i think is exorbitant.

I tried local guys as well but they say they cant fix it.

So now i have no choice but to let it be the way it is

Hi Chandrakar, well.. i've burnt abt 4,700 kms til now...i'll take it 4 its 2nd servicing next weekend. well...u're right..the car is so smooth and cool on LPG...but for that everything has to be alrite.....hehe. no i agree...n abt the Gas air filter..dat is exactly what happened with me 4,000 kms.... so i got the same things done as u're telling me... Gas air Filter cleaned,Tuning and Timing,Ingnition coils.... i mean thats what was written on my jobsheet..... i was experienceing those hiccups on Gas too ,and on Petrol is was alrite..... what i gather from your experience(which is the same as mine) is this seems to be a standard problem with all the duo's.

very sad that it happens to such a new engine..guys havent improvised there i think.

i settled for passion red color though i was eyeing white or beige,since it was too long till these 2 colors'd be delivered.

i am by far happy with the car though i think i shud hv stuck to swift since i had booked that model first and later on changed to the duo.

one thing where this car scores tons over all others is that u never feel the pinch when u go for a fuel refill : )  thats a major major plus there..

i got the tyres upgraded to a larger size,more than that of the vxi,got front power windows and a central lock + immobiliser..rest all is general kharcha which everyone does like stereo,seats,film etc.

am planning to go for alloy wheels next..what say ??

hi Chandrakar, well ya i guess this is sumthin Maruti need to think abt...... d choked GAS-AIR filter.... Parrion Red...kool.. i got the Golden clour, well.. i did think abt Swift though... but then dint hav that much money then.....hehe...also Swift fuel efficiency isnt dat good... it can never b compared wid a the DUO atleast. n u being in Mumbai,wud be saving even more... since the difference of price between Petrol n LPG is more in Mumbai. so i think if its only a CIty car...its good !.. front power windows ... kool !...how much did they cost u ?... i was thinkin abt front Power windows.... actually Estillo Lxi has it...i dunno y they 4got the Wagon R Lxi !...

i love the gold color,yes.

front power windows cost me about 5.5 or 6k i think,though dont remember exactly.

theres a lot ya if u wanna invest in the car...i just could do whatever my pocket allowed me that time.

 

yes i am saving a great deal on LPG in mumbai since there is about 4 bux difference between prices in del and mum...u guys are lucky dost.
