hi rakesh,

i'm a micra (xv) owner and to be honest i feel proud that i finally went with micra against mush established market leaders.

also apology for not being part of this thread earlier, as otherwise i dont normally miss any post which has micra mentioned!!

to be honest i'm running a campaign on myself to make people aware that micra is indeed a great car and people should strongly consider it before making a purchase (and Nissan must strictly consider me for doing free favor)

i have got good cash discount on XV in Navi Mumbai which has took it close to XL for its ex show room price in mumbai. even on that part arranging total was a bit concerned but some how it got arranged.

if you trully compare xl and xv there are differences worth 1 lac i roughly estimated. and as mentioned in a post earlier, it has some drawbacks but i've made my mind not to take the delivery until it got resolved.

to begine with, i first cover differences

1. co driver air bag

2. ABS + EBD + BA

3. fog lamps (not sure though)

4. push button start

5. greige color interiors

6. remote key less entry

7. electric mirrors

8. front chrome grill

9. several body color items

also i've waited till i get below arrangements done

1. dual horn .... it used to come with single horn

2. back seat head rest

(3) and now they have started offering 'version' batch like XV/XL etc

what i do miss were alloys and steering control but the cars in which it come are several thousands higher than micra XV so it was okay to me.

considering your parents need, i recommend you to go with XL, its also a great car and i wont agree that black is out dated, still many cars come with black and i find xv's griege prone to get dirty early, so ur parents can save for regular washing and cleaning.

ultimately its least expensive and quite a morden hatch and you wont disappoint purchasing that.

Ashish,

You are a year late in advising our friend here.

when did you buy your car & what was its price?

HAHA,

i truly regret Manish, not seeing this thread in time, anyway until we get any update from him, we'll happily assume he is still figuring one between XL and XV.

though i've booked the vehicle on 15th dec only, considering rise in prices in january for all automakers and nissan being a japaneese chances were even higher.

i got the final quote from the dealer for Rs 6.06 L - 50 K (Discount from nissan on petrol vehicle) - 15 k (discount from the dealer on petrol vehicle).

though this discount was applicable to '2011 makes' only, during final selection in January i argued with the dealer that what i've requested you like back seat headrest + thigh support and dual horn is not available in the car shown. he has no choice but to end up giving me a 2012 model.

i totally paid 5.41 L + 3500 for side moulding.

there was an initial setback too, we selected sunshine orange color but got only white as orange was out of stock and expecte to come by feb end only. there was no point in waiting for the car to arrive a month later and paying 2 EMIs to the bank already.

white was anyway our 2nd choice and today am very happy as it looks too good in white (too)

also am not too happy with the dealer except on discount offering, as am yet to get the side moulding done (out of stock) and the floor mats are given to me is in black, they originally belong to XL model, whereas i requested for the greige ones (keeping the greige theme all over)

car was driven close to 70 kms before with total fuel average closing to 15.8 km/l.

my poor driving skills initially and mumbai traffic (have taken car to siddhi vinayak yesterday) have both contributed to bring it down to 14.4 over all.

Rakesh is right too.

Also, silver will look more elegant in Micra

to me silver doesnt show its true character ... it looks more like A Star (no offences) ... black orange red and white are better choices
