Friends,

For buying a new car, when I fixed my required features and available fund, when ever I search I reach in to " Tata Cars" only. In the forum it is always less respect for tata products from the members. In many models for the similar features, the price differnce is from 50k to more than 1 lakh. Being an average Indian whether I should take benefit of this saving at the cost of brand value?

My genuine doubt can be better addressed by true Tata owners. If somebody is there please share their experience with Tata both of the product and the service.

And another genuine doubt is that most passionate (automobile) members are from the IT sector, and they are more quality consious, and they can afford spending lakhs of Rupees for the direction towards perfection. But the average Indian metntality people like me in this forum will be a minority, and their view will be mosly sink with majority of the other category people.

Please post your honest view, I welcome more posts from the Tata owners,

Thanks in advance, and a very happy new year  for all the members

Hi Raja,

I have been using TATA cars for almost a decade now. 1st we had Indica V2, tehn Indica DLS & now Indigo CS TDI.

""For buying a new car, when I fixed my required features and available fund, when ever I search I reach in to " Tata Cars" only. "" I face the same problem.

Tata cars offer such VFM that they are hard to avoid. Tata has come a long way & their quality has improved immensly. They are also giving the famous Fiat Multijet engines in their cars. Their cars the most spacious of the lot. they have improved the quality of engines, fit & finish. They have also launched ARIA, the 1st cross over in the country.

I just want to say thet if you like the car, just go for TATA. True VFM.

Which car are you planning to buy ??

  Thanks, Mr Bajaj,

I was considering Manza, because of its interior ansd space. I had little reservations because its controls like AC and power windows are looking very cheap, and any time it can fall like fixing. And the same point is noted by some users of this vehicle. Otherwise for driving pleasure and look, it is satisfying me.

Thanks once agin

When I decided to TD Linea, I was first offered to TD Manza before they gave me the Linea.

In a nutshell, this was one of the factor which drove me to finalise Linea because I disliked Manza on every aspect. (Infact I increased my budget after TDing DZire and Manza). Manza has been copied in many aspects from Linea , but it is limited to only copying and not cloning. hence while on paper the no of features may be same for both but what distinguishes the 2 is the quality of the features.

For example, one major point which i disliked and have not seen anyone mention in the forum is: when pressing the clutch of Manza diesel, it was feeling to be of a truck, my leg started paining as it was so hard. But for the Linea, it's as smooth as butter.

Finally, you cannot buy gold at the price of sliver. And its your choice based on financial factors on which one you can afford. But, if affordable, my choice will be Linea. I'll rather extend my budget for Linea rather going for Manza.

Have you seen the number of lineas sold in December and other fiat cars?

It is giving a feeling that, Fiat needs some drastic changes like having total change in network / leaving TATA tie up / withdrawing from car market. I don't have exclusive Fiat show room in my town also. Leads me not to consider Fiat car.

Well, my feedback is not for suggesting you buy Linea. But to share my exp on Manza on what it has and what it lacks wrt an example i know well. If you can increase your budget, you can even look at Vento. But Manza, Dzire are all in the same catagory - which is worth it's value in it's own sense and segment.

On FIAT sales point - I am also sceptical as you are, but based on various reviews in many forums that Dec sales fig do not reflect the actual take-off by end users, will wait for the figures of Jan & Feb to conclude anything. Buying a FIAT from a TATA SR is no harm. That need not worry you. In fact I am quite happy on my exp with the TATA SR here.

I think Fiat has to go a long way to win the confidence of Indian buyers.  It is very clear that the resale value of Fiat cars will be very very poor, whereas Tata cars specially diesel ones are favorites in the 2nd hand market & demand good resale value

I own a Vista, bought a year back, apart from plastics, i did not find anything of inferior quality. If you open a bonnet, you will realise that everything seems to be good quality and properly placed. Seeing the engine part, you can easily say that it is not like a typical tata car as it used to be.

My friend recently got an opportunity to travel by Manza, even though in his life he has always suggested a maruti and hyundai car, his perception was totally changed by the comfort level it had. He was also surprised to see the same comfort level offered in Vista.

So friend, all and all, tata cars are not that bad as it has been portrayed. People who are saying this have never used such car. Also it is a general tendency to show people that whatever they have brought is ultimate, especially after paying 50k to 1 lac more. They will always try to bring down other products.

Manza will do the same job for 1-2 lacs cheaper what Linea or other car will do.

Now for service part, i did not find any problem with service.

No car is perfect, but when it comes to Tata, they are many times more exaggerated.

I remember reading a review of Ritz on mouthshut, where a stone hit the engine, which leaked entire engine oil, causing the engine to cease . Rather than complaining of design or quality fault, he was suggesting other owners to drive carefully on pebbled road and regularly check the bottom of engine. If same would have been the case with Tata cars, he would have suggested not to go ever in life for tata cars.

Other thing, what i always do is that i learn about all your deficiences or issues of the product and then decide, this will restrict your expectation, which is endless and you will be happy with your product. I know it sounds funny but then it has always helped me.

I have  always adopted this approach, whether it is bike, mobile or car, so my brain is always ready expected problem, rather than shock and trust me i am happy with all my products.
