Hi Raman

Alpine Type R speakers are one of the best speakers around. They sound really detailed and clear which is expected from Alpine.

The only thing is they are really power hungry. You will need an amplifier like JBL GTO1004 or the Focal Solid 4 to power them. Minimum of 75W at 4 ohm is what they need so choose accordingly.

@praveen..!!

The dealer told me that the component speakers give a punch sort of a thing..these usually come with tweeters which give high frequency voices..these are usually considered superior..

A component speaker set has 3 components :

1. Mid-Range : Speaker which handles the sounds of the instruments, drums, vocals etc but of mid frequencies.

2. Tweeter : Small speaker which handles the sharp musical part of the music as well as the mids.

3: Cross-Over network : Takes signal from the amplifier or Head Unit and separates the mid and high frequencies and sends them to the tweeter and mid-range accordingly. Also keps the power handling in control.

Co-Axial mean 'on the same axis'.

In easy terms a co-axial speaker has a small tweeter mounted in the centre of the mid-range speaker itself meaning they are sharing the same axis. Co-axial speakers are best used in the rear of a car where installing a tweeter would be tough.

These are quite cheap compared to component speakers and need little power compared to component speakers to be just as loud.
