I think TATAs will not stop here. They have now understood the taste of the market and the future variants will strike far more stronger chord with the target customers. It is easy for them with the kind of resources available with them. Not to be surprised if they come out with Hybrid Nano at the cost less ( or equal) than Alto.Already read reports about diesel nano. This kind of product mix coupled with their planned dedicated standalone dealerships in small towns I am sure in a small time they will have massive turn around.

Imagine 600~1000 small dealerships in town and countries , why they alone will not cross 30K+ sales.

I can imagine the future product mix as below which seems obvios to happen.

Nano625cc - Petrol

Nano1000cc - Petrol

Nano Diesel -CRDi

Nano Diesel - TDi

Nano - Electric

Nano - Hybrid

Well , the Nano has been on sale for around one year approximately , few other forums and reviewers have started labelling the Nano as a market flop , which is kind of correct but also wrong at the same time ,

The Nano just isnt selling in numbers required for the "economy of scale" concept to work , It has got this bad image among people of being a "rickshaw" which is very difficult to shake off ,

(I am speculating here) that the only thing that can help the nano to survive is its fuel efficiency , which might be exceptional when the diesel powered variant will be launched , but once it loses that to any future competitive product , it will die ,

Car companies especially Indian , will have to launch products like the Loremo (LOw REsistance MOtorcar) made by a German consortium , We can benefit from the technology developed for the Nano to make products similar to the LOREMO , which will be the next direction in the car industry ,,

Right now , all we can do is wait

Yes dear i do agree with you. Indian automaker Tata Motors has finally unveiled the Tata Nano — its already legendary $2,500 (1-lakh)car. As expected, the car that Tata claims will change the face of not only the Indian car market

@sushrutpatgaonkar – I dont agree that the nano should pack up. It's still early days for the Nano andit's just a matter of time before people get rid of their pre-conceived notions and warm up to the Nano. As an owner I personally vouch for it's value for money, surprising space and the fact that it handles all terrain.
