Can someone please compare swift vxi with chevy UVA

i also have similar doubts.

i'm a doc and dont have much of a driving, just 100 kms/month

i loved uva's big car looks and spacious interiors. but maruti has a better resale value, and am also concerned abt maintenance costs. plz advise.

also can go for wagon r duo

hi Dr.Aksrivastav... well...@ 100 kms u really wont be spending nethin as maintainence...(except for the regular servicings)... so i think u shud go 4 d Aveo.... and incase of the WagonR...go for Vxi (only available in petrol )..which is the top model of this car. i wud never recomend WagonR duo to u because,u're monthly running is only 100 kms. which means 3.3 kms per day.... so at 3.3 kms a day,u'll never be able to enjoy the benefit of LPG !... n ofcourse at runnin below 5 kms a day,fuel prices wil HARDLY make much difference to u. cheers.

I am also looking at these options particularly between U-VA and Getz. If we go for Getz then whether 1.1 or 1.3. My running is not much. My major constraint is dimensions should be not more than as U-VA or Getz. Need this segment car which looks good. I have my 5 years old Zen which is good and now time to upgrade. Thanks S. M. have decided to go in for fiat palio1.1 reosons:

Since I intend to keep the car for more tna 5-6 yrs resale was never a factor

 

Swift: was maruti and a good drive. This was the most difficult to leave out! Resons to leave it out:  had a very bad shape, protruded from outside (which makes driving in narrow lanes difficult), and congested from inside, (which makes rear sitting difficult).

 

Aveo-Uva : I loved the car, was beautifully designed. However there was only 1 dealer in Lucknow and that too was not very well spoken of, so after sales will always be a problem. Alo according to me it was overprised for a chevy in India and 1148(not exactly 1.2 as they advertise) engine.

 

Getz 1.3 above my budget. Getz1.1:

 

Quite similar to the new palio. Similar shape, equitant power, similar average. <

however it was 4o k more tna a palio!

Now coming to the reasons for choosing a palio:

 

I have test driven it atleast 3-4 times each time ~ 10kms. What I found.:

 

Confortable drive, good front seat and rear seat comfort, power although less than swift but equivalent to getz and uva. Excellent looks, gives the look of a big car. Useful features like double seat folding 3 step, door opening.

 

But the most important reason: VALUE FOR MONEY!:On road price of a Fiat palio 1.1SLE with front power windows, central locking, fog lamps, is around 4 lacks. After this there is a discount of 13 k and an excange bonus of 10 k. so it comes to only 377000. and also they will exchange my old maruti 800. so I will get that price also.

 

Also the A.s.s. of fiat is no longer a problem with tata coming up big time! So the servise provided will be better than GM however lesser than Hyundai and maruti if any!

 

In short in the price of a santro, I am getting a bigge<

hi Mr.Chandok..wat r the other points which u hav in mind abt ur next car..... both these cars are premium hatchbacks and are very nice cars...with the right combinaition of refinement,quality,ease of driving and ofcourse power !.....

well..Dr.Aksrivastav,i must say u've really done a good research abt cars b4 buying the one of ur choice (n wich matches ur needs)... n yes,a 10 km test drive !!!!!!........wher did u get that frm ?..

My major reaason for the change is 1) Good look, better category, Good feeling 2) All features like power window, power steering, central locking,MP3 etc 3) New car My runing is not much. Mostly city drive.

Mr Chandak, lets take ur points one by one--- 1.Good luck--umm..i believe all cars wud carry the luck that u've got !.... so lets be an optimist..... i m sure all cars wud be lucky ! better category----- the cars in ur preferred segment,wud be at par wid each other..... but yes der r differeences here n there. feel good factor----Yes totally ! i'd say identical in this segment !... 1 car in this segment is a BESTSELLER,the otherone a POWER generator,n last but not the least the LAST one is a car frm GM !!..need i say more !!.. Features----- yes Power steering n central locking is STANDARD in these cars....for power windows...one above the basic model wud hav this feature. FOr MP3 player,u'd have to go 4 the top-end model....but better than that..u get get it installed urself..... cuz its not always consedered as a "feature"....
