Interiors of Maruti Ritz are much improved in terms of plastic quality but rattling is still a big issue.

I agree, Maruthi is not concerned about improving the quality because of the sales. They don't mind if one or two don't prefer Maruthi when the whole of India is obsessed with the company. If this is the case, Hyundai will beat Maruthi very soon.

Yes, people are becoming quality consious now a days and will buy more of non maruti suzuki products going forward. Toyota and Honda's entry to small car segment will certainly dent MS's sales. Better they wake up now.

Wait for few months and Etios will start eating Maruti's market share (and also others like Hyundai etc). Swift and Dzire might get hit as Toyota is targetting this segment.

And before next year end, Honda small car also will change the game in small car market.

Maruti had a good base in India for many decades and they should have already released models for mini SUV, small MUV etc.

Toyota, Honda, Fiat and Renault or Mahindra has plans to launch a small car under 5lakh. This will be a major leap in Indian market with highest hatchbacks. MS and Hyundai will get tougher competitors.

Hi

I was planning to buy a diesel car priced around 9-10 lacks rupees. I was thinking of SX4 but then i read this discussion and everyone is saying that maruti has poor build quality but no one is telling elaborating on poor quality. Can you please elaborate as to how maruti cars have lower build quality?

There is nothing specific about low build quality. Its a generalised term people use to describe anything thats wrong. The SX4 is miles ahead of other marutis on build quality and may it not match a Honda or Toyota, but is surely on par with the competition.

@Sankalp- I do not know the build quality of SX4, but what I have seen common in Maruthi is very annoying. The front grill might have two screws in Swift/Dzire and you can pull it with one finger and it moves inches. The boot is so light and Swift Dzire doesn't have hydrolic system. I guess the boot weighs 10kgs. The bumper is so soft that you could make shapes with your hand.

Hi,

I would like to add on TATA servicing.

I own TATA Indica XETA V2, Nov 2007 model. I have not spent much on maintainance, But I confess that my running is low. I have just done 12000 kms till now.

I have given report on FE in thread " Tata Manza has clocked a mileage of 46.33 km per litre!!! ". Indica gives me 17 kmpl.

Parts I replaced are wipers. But I need to do servicing as per time schedule. Recently, on 3rd year schedule, I have changed Fuel Filter, Oil Filter, Engine Oil with oil thickener additive, Gear oil, Air Filter, tire rotation, Battery servicing and all normal checking.

It cost me Rs 4200 only.

In last 2 servicings, I got call from Pune from Tata office, and he was asking me questions and was requesting to Rate the TATA service centre according to my expereince and satisfaction.

He was asking for --

1. Spare parts, Am I satisfied with its pricing and working

2. Was my problem solved by Service Station as per my satisfaction

3. Was expereince with Tata Staff  good

4. Overall feel and comittment of Service station.

He asked me to give points out of 10. As per my experince, last time I gave on average 8 - 9 points to My Tata Service station in Goa.

This time, I gave 9 - 10 points on average.

Tata has issue of poor fit and finish, but believe me they dont give you problem as such and they dont fall out. Body feels solid and gives me secured feeling.

And frequently, I drive with 6 people and lots of luggage. I also drive it in red rural roads without tar where height of pothelos is 1 feet on average

Driving is privilage, not a right.
