This car will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Will Mahindra succeed in getting more buyers?

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

There is a vacant segment for a SUV/MUV below Rs. 6 lakhs. Premier tried it with the RIO which failed. Maybe, a better product at that range can work.

This is a new segment space to be explored in the Indian market. The pricing by M&M is the key here. Since they are planning to launch it as sub 6 lacs category, it would become a strong contender for hatches in this range. It would surely offer better space compared to hatches but one would like to see its driving dynamics. This is one point where hatches would score over Mini Xylo. If M&M caters to this need, then definitely the segment would be set on fire.

I saw a maruti 800 converted in suv (1992) , I was amazed and thought if some automobile co. design this kind of suv definataly they will get huge responce. I think mahindra knows the Indian consumer very well & it will make it a sure success. I dont remember any Mahindra product failing in the Indian market apart from "Logan", which is a gr8 product. i believe Logan failed due to poor design & poor promotion, otherwise its a gr8 product.

Anyways, Best Of Luck Mahindra.

mahindra with 1.5 litre diesel mill. can not win the consumer mind. the reason watch the power of the engine may be around 60bhp. this is a chariot.  look the condition of 1.4 Lt diesel version from Tata, total failure.

Logan failed b'coz of poor bhp around 65. if it would have been around 90 to 110 bhp. today there will be another story.

absolutly no. it depends on the performance of the vehicle with 5 passengers inside the car, now a days buyers are very conscious about engine power, interiors,  and look of the car. if the engine is around 100 bhp sure mahindra will capture the market.

Rakesh,

it is not necessary that if a car produces more bhp, it will be a success.

logan Diesel did not fail because of poor power. it has adequte power & gives excellent FE of 22 kmpl on highways.
