I have been reading posts on sun films. I read that many people have installed clear type sun films on their front wind shield as well. My doubts are\

1. This wont reduce visibility? Especially in night time and rainy days...

2. During monsoon you get coating of mist on your windshield and only AC blower turned to the windscreen helps the WS gets cleared of mist. If you have sun film on Front WS, wont this become worst?

Please advice. Please write the advantages and disadvantages of installing sun films on front windshield.

pros.....

most of the heat comes in our car from front windshield....

-makes the ac really effective during sizzzzzzling hot summers.

-keeps the car cool even when its locked in open parking(specially if you've got art leather seats...ohhzz hotWink)

-greatly reduces the glare of on coming headlights at night.

cons

-reduces the visibility to some extent (can be solved by using bit high intensity headlamps)

you can avoid using darker shades just prefer those with maximum heat rejection capabilities...

during monsoons..........neah it wont bother you...!!

Be careful as the use a lot of water while installing sunfilm for the windwhield - lot of horror stories of ECU,headunits, speakers getting spoiled.

Be there to supervise it and gett it done from a reputed dealer with lot of exp.

Pramod, I had it on earlier car and now on T-Jet. A slight reduction in visibility can be felt. But thats fine unless you drive extensively on highways or countryside.

@ pammu - if can invest a high amount ,, the problem of lost visibility will be minimal ,, as good quality block the heat at its best but the light comes through keeping the visible very close 100 perscent ,, dont knwo about garware and 3M ,, i did look at V - COOL demo was really good ,,,, they have all india warranty ,,, visit their store it will be really good ,, if budget constraint ,, compromise on door and windows,, but not rear and defintilely on front wind shield ,, it will also not allow the collor of dash board steering cover to fade away fast
