top speed and Engine RPM in 5th gear of Maruti Alto Lxi

Considering the Maruti Alto does not have a RPM counter, would anyone know the RPMs in 5th gear when the Alto reaches its claimed top speed of 137km/h?

It would be in 6000 range. Car's max power helps it in achieving max speed. Alto's max power comes at 6200 rpm hence when you achieve top speed, car's engine is running in 6000 rpm range only.

alto run at 167km /hr for it top speed.

i had shoot my  alto speed in my cam .on express way while driving to pune.

it was unbelievable .

but car was very much vibrating.

True because the maximum speed mentioned by Maruti is 137 kmsph. 

Also because even other/bigger cars normally achieve below their specified maximum speed.

HI guys...

On the way from Mumbai to Pune on Express Highway. i hit a top of 150 KM/h on my Alto STD. It could have been more but....as its a concrete road and the tyres were original..i didnt want to take any risks...i suppose it can hit...around or more than 160km/h.


Guys

Maruti omni which has a Speedo Meter of 120km/h max...my uncle was driving it on a speed of around 110-115km/h...it was unbelievable...as i was driving my alto along with him

It can never reach its top speed on 5th gear as thats a cruise gear. You need to try on 4th gear to see the top speed. Dont know about Alto but I had a Maruti 800 5 Speed which has same engine as alto and I used to drive comfortably on 140 in 5th gear. Once (only once) while competing with an Inova I could reach 148KMPH which surprised me.

Thats true dear...u need to take its top on 4th first till or more than 135km/h and then u can shift to 5th....800 doesnt go higher than what u have reached...i believe the torque for both the cars are pretty different even if the CC is same..coz i drove a old maruti 1996 at a top of 125km/h and the hose pipe burst.......and even 800 doesnt give a top end like alto...technology matters nyways...

Well i jst had a road trip wit ma frnds for AHMD from Surat....n i did almost 140 on my Alto wit 5 ppl includin me in the car...n the car was not at all wobbling...Cheer's to tat...n i do hav a proof abt the speed of ma car wit a pic ... so tell me how to upload it n i'll do it...
