Hi,

I own a Maruti Suzuki A-Star LXI. I maintain a tyre pressure of 32 psi for the city driving conditions. I am planning to go for long drives. Can you please recommend to stick with 32 psi for the long drive as well? Please share your valuable thoughts and experience.

Thanking you,

Chandru

Well, if you're not sure stick to what the user manual says. However you may inflate upto 34-35psi without any risk (my experience, plus many others' too - even 40psi) for long drives. There are some benefits to this: Better handling, less risk of sidewall (and hence, tyre) damage, lesser rolling resistance (and hence improved mileage).

Thanks for the reply. I had accidently posted the same under Maintain your Car. Sorry about that. I tried with 34 psi for the city drive and it was quite bumpy. I will try 34 psi for the long drive.

Well with higher pressure you will get a relatively bumpier ride simply because now the tyres are stiffer and thus provide less cushioning.
