145 Km/hr in my 2009 Swift Vxi on Mum-Pune expressway. There was vibration at that speed, so couldn't push further. I personally don't enjoy the expressway due to the concrete roads. Tar roads are more smooth and fun to drive!!

I could easily achieve 180kmph in my Suzuki Baleno on Pune-Bangalore highway (Near Shira before Tumkur).

Handling was excellent, no vibrations, none inside car felt the speed. My son was writing something sitting on the back seat's center handrest.

Its a great car produced by Maruti Suzuki!

180 for a Baleno is amazing. Is it completely stock or modded?

My advice to my friends dont ever try going above 120kmph, thats the only maximum best speed to reflex if any one appears in front of you. many have lost their lives and have also taken lives because of speeding.

Here in Hyderabad on ORR there was an accident guess which car Bentley and was doing way over 150kmph but what happened the car was 100% damaged but thank God who ever was driving came out alive.

Another instance that was on jubilee hills road Honda Accord lost control hit the divider and toppled over an indica on the other side and guess what both the driver and the passenger in the Indica died on the spot. But Accord driver came out alive, very shameful for that accord guy because of his negligence he took 2 innocent lives.

My adivce if at all you want to achieve high and high and high speeds please go do it on the race track, if I have hurt someone my apologies.

This is what happened after an accident it is not only for drunken driving it is also for high speeding, what high speed can do to you and people around you.

Everyone please watch those videos.

Drive safely and and concentrate on driving when you are cruising at high speeds. Never go above 100 or 120 as said by Dan.

Danni, a sane person would never be hurt by your great advice.

Yes, a speed in excess of 120kmph on expressway is risking one's life as well as others'. Though, everybody is doing it. Our Indian cars are not as safe as those in West.

Even if we one a new generation car that has ABS, Airbags and everything, still there are other cars, tractors, overloaded trucks and 2 wheelers and lots if them in this part of the country.

Sadly, there are Alcohol vending stores at highways as well. These should be closed down but they are generating a lot of revenue in the form of taxes so no body is bothered to close them down.

BTW, when I was 19 and relatively immature, I've touched 120kmph on my Karizma on Chandigarh-Panchkula 4 lane, one way, city road at 1am just for the sake for checking out the bike. I'm now mature and never even cross half that mark.

Maruti 800 1995 model (carb)  ---  125 kmph on Bangalore-Mumbai highway

Hyundai Santro LS (ZipDrive, 1.0 lit)  --  160 kmph, Mumbai-Pune Expressway sloping stretch (see my avatar)

Maruti Swift Dzire Vxi (1.3 lit)  --  180 kmph on same sloping stretch of Mumbai-Pune Expresway

Of the 3 cars, I love the old Santro the best. Not a very fast car, but amazing handling and stability at any speed. Can take corners at high speed, cut lanes at 150 kmph, and often hit 140+ kmph in heavy rain, etc. In traffic this car is unbeatable.  I have 5J alloy wheels (one inch wider than 4J stock steel rims) and stock-size (155/70-R13) tubeless tyres on this car. Gives superbly accurate steering response. I have done the 93-km Mumbai-Pune Expressway in a best time of about 48 mins in this car.

Swift Dzire Vxi is very quick and fun to drive. Would be even better with Zxi's alloy wheels/tyres. Have done the 93-km Mumbai-Pune Expressway in 45 mins in this car.
