Hi

Is there is need to replace fuel pump because mechanic told me that fuel pump gets weaker while running on CNG? Is he saying correct or just trying to make me fool. He told me that he will change the fuel pump motor which will be of Rs 1500 and then he will fit the relay to new fuel pump which will cost me around 1000 rs including labour charges

Your mechanic is correct, the car chokes/hesitates/jerks on petrol as the fuel pump motor has gone weak & is not able to pump petrol with sufficient pressure. Without enough fuel pressure the car chokes as if low on fuel/running out of fuel.

Get only fuel pump motor changed & not the whole fuel pump assembly but make sure you purchase genuine Denso or Bosch motor. Chinese/imported motors are not reliable/fail shortly.

With a new genuine motor your car shouldl be as good as new on petrol.

Hi,

I have an year old Hyundai i10 1.1 and got landirenzo cng kit fitted in my car about 6 months back. Lambda and advancer are also installed in the car.

I usually switch from CNG to petrol when I am nearing my destination. Very recently this problem has started showing up - The car chokes(kind of suffocates) when I switch from CNG to petrol - the engine sound changes. It does something like "dhuk" dhuk" continously and car is not able to pick up well. Then if I pedal the accelerator well then only it is able to pick-up. And it continous to make this noise. I stopped the car and also noticed the silencer sound is not rythemic when on petrol. It makes this suffocating noise, as if something is stuck in it. But during this problem if I switch the car back to CNG it starts working fine and the suffocating noise goes away.

I am really amazed that car runs well on CNG but on petrol it is giving me the problem.

Somebody please suggest what could the problem be and how to fix it up.

Thanks in advance,

-RK

you should be go with BRC CNG KIT to avoid this kind of problem
