24 Hour Roadside assistance

Are there any insurance providers / other agencies who provide 24-hour emergency roadside assistance? What is the cost invovled generally?

Also, what %age of the damage is generally borne by the car owner under a typical insurance?

Some of the new cars comes with roadside assistance free of cost for 2 to 4 years and so. Honda is offerring 24 hr roadside assistance for old cars also for an annual charge.

So does Tata Motors, General Motors (Chevrolet), Mahindra and many other brands. What car you have? Try contacting your ASS to get the Roadside assistance package. However, Insurance has nothing to do with Roadside assistance, unless otherwise stated in your Insurance and/or Road assisitance package.

If you are looking at free towing (only for accidents and not breakdowns), then thats included in many/almost all insurance packages for a fixed number of KM, beyond which u need to pay. Free towing feature may be offered in roadside assistance as well but irrespective of accidents/breakdowns. This may vary from provider to provider. The best thing would be to avail the roadside assistance feature from your car company. Some third party car care folks like carnation and mahindra firstchoice have also started this roadside assistance package of late.
