Hi,

According to Ford if you put Alloys, Amplifier or anything else in your car then it is voiding the warranty. When you take you car for service they are noting every detail about the accessories you have put in so they can harras you later when you try to claim the warranty. Apperntly i had major talks regarding this with Ford India and the dealer though the dealer was way too arogrant and stubborn and asked me to sign a paper which said that there are alloys and amp. in my car but i did'nt.

After taking this matter with Ford India they did'nt seem to take any action so I think Ford is now getting greedy and will try to find any excuse to void the warranty.

They have jacked up prices of the Figo, they have removed some stuff (like tacho in EXi), they have started voiding warranty on pety issues, this clearly shows their greed but there is no other way. Buying a Rs. 200 cable in Rs. 1200 does'nt makes sense also when it is never available in stock. They launched the new Fiesta at a price of 10 Lacs which is stupid itself. I don't understand where they are going.

So make sure you do it properly so that there are no issues regarding that. If the wire you install causes any other issue then they will take it as an excuse and will try to void the warranty.

Thanks.

hi,

when did it asked you to sign that document on the buying date? or on servicing dates? n wat  reason they gave you for doing this outrage?

n wat kinda pins did u used to insert on the back of the stereo? secondly, is it to be taken care of that red, black, green wires should go in their particular respective holes only?

Hi,

They did that on 2nd service of 20000 kms. When I asked them about it, they said Ford has asked to do it. And when I asked them to show me for what other vehicles they have done it they failed to show any other.

I used pin which are in the power cord which goes in CD-ROM, HDD etc. I took the connector, broke it and got 4 pins from it. Used them and yes Red, Green, Black and brown wires are important. They should go into the exact holes.

Thanks.

Hi Kikloo,

Finally I got time for creating the audio cable for my figo stereo...

The nearest dealer being 150 km away, I used my wife knitting needles Borke the pair into 4.. Probably size 10... The ones which precisely went thru the holes.. pulled out the body and fitted the cable designed like that of yours.. It is working well.. Also my legs are fine.. I mean my wife didnt break them up after knowing that her knitting needles had been broken.. ha ha

Thank you for guiding..

Dr S Singh Shimla.
