Good Resale Value within 1 year? Indica V2 Turbo DLXIC or Santro Xing Erlx?

Hi, My budget is 3.5 to 4.75 Lakhs. I have shortlisted either to buy indica V2 or Santro Xing. In a week i drive 150 Kms Maximum. Once in 3-4 months, i will take the car for a long drive upto 1200Kms. I'm planning to go overseas next year (2007) May for Long term work. I will sell the car while going. So,which car has the good resale value Indica V2 (diesel) (Rs.460000) or Santro Xing Erlx(Rs.390000). Which car has good rear leg room (comfortable back seating)? Good Fuel-economy? Which car is ideal for me? Totally Confused on which one to go...Please....Please Help.

Dear Dhakshin, Your question has confused us too. Your first preference i.e. resale suggests Santro Xing while second preference i.e. good rear leg-room suggests Indica V2. There is no doubt that Santro Xing has far better resale value and will return maximum of your money at the time of resale but this is not same for Indica. Though Indica diesel has good resale, yet it is nowhere close to Santro in resale. On the other hand, despite of having good comfort level, Santro is nowhere close to Indica in leg-room and overall space. So now, you have to choose between the two i.e. resale or legroom. If its resale then go for Santro or if its leg-room, buy Indica V2. If you want to go for car with better legroom, alternative could be Indica Xeta. Same features as in Indica diesel but at far lesser price, resale won't be that good but since your investment is too less, you can consider a bit in resale. Also your monthly running doesn't suggest a diesel car. Buy a petrol car only.
