Change Petrol to LPG

Sir, I have a Maruti Ze, 1997 model, and rund about 100000 Kms., Would you recommend me to change Petrol to LPG. And there is any effect on Engine while running with LPG

Dear Hemant, There is no harm in converting the car to use LPG but your car is quite old and in metros, very old cars (1999 or earlier) are not permitted for LPG retrofitment by RTO. So if you are living in any metro, it might not be possible for you to go for LPG. However there is no effect on engine by due to this conversion.

sir is it true dat Cars frm 2000 onwards r only allowed for LPG conversion ???.... any idea why is it so ???....

I have a Ford Ikon 1.6 ZXI 2000 model , is it advisable to convert it to LPG . I am informed that LPG retrofitting on Ford Ikon 1.6 is not succesful .

Please advise .

well... dat info is true i guess.... der r many Ikon 1.6 owners who luv der car..n want to retrofit LPG/CNG kit so that it does not burn a hole in der pocket.. bt Ford does not recommend CNG/in der Ikon 1.6..

Prashant..thanx 4 d link...but this was written way bak in October 99...wen we hardly knew what LPG-AUTOGAS was ?...LPG at that time was only known to us in the form of cooking gas...... since then there hav been thousands who hav got LPG and CNG retrofitments... Alot of cars hav been successfull....while sum of them hav NOT....the Ikon 1.6 is one such example of the latter case.....
